  1. Yes I did find it. My server config was just the default so I simply deleted everything that wasn't the server. The odd thing is when I moved this world off the official servers to my system (because it was laggy) I had to change what world was selected in the server config. Later is when I made a creative world to test things and for some reason a day later when I had the server restarted it replaced it. I can only assume maybe I had made a server with the singleplayer world through in game which replaced at least the server config? Regardless I can for sure say I am scared to make any more worlds lol. Everything seems fine with the server and hopefully I can find out how to avoid this in the future. I probably would of quit for a while because we had made so much progress.
  2. Me and a friend were playing on the server today and my PC had suddenly ran out of disk space. The server closed and prompted this so I went to clear up some space else where any started the server up. For some reason the server just started up in my single player world. It even appears the server config was entirely replaced as well. I didn't do anything to change the config between this time it just decided to overwrite my server. So now I'm unsure what to do because I want the original server config and I don't know if everything is broken or not. Is my world just gone?
  3. Ehm... Lets uh... stay on topic it here... To everyone thanks for the answers as I am totally a human and a dude so your advice is safe with me. Anyways when it actually comes to killing a bear I have found methods that make it easy. I have personally been using ladders to make it easier to kill them as its a safe space easily available via trees or cheap blocks while I dig a hole near it to lure the bear into. Of course the simplest method was me leading the bear to my base entrance which is too narrow for the bear to get through and hitting it then repeating this because it will run away. The issue of getting jumpscared by a Freddy Fazbear is what I struggle on. I have managed to get to safe places by using ladders or running but sometimes I don't know how they glue to me so well. It truly is the surprise portion that gets me every time. Grizzly Bears well I think they just get a free meal from you if they even see you. Again thanks for the suggestions there's some good ones I haven't heard and I didn't know they worked. I'd try running from bears by swimming but for some reason I just stopped. I don't think I gave it enough of a chance. I also did not think about if bears can swim downwards well. Personally I also have found ladders to be quite the deterrent for bears. If there are any 3 block tall pillars (hello trees) I quickly place one on just the 3rd block and jump onto and watch as the bear forgets how to climb. This is where if I want to kill them I lure them back to a quickly dug hole. I will be messing with water for sure and I'll attempt to break their AI with the rough terrain. I do feel like there is pathing that causes the bears to get stuck if even for a second such as running close to trees.
  4. I've been struggling with surviving run ins with bears since the start of my world recently and I can't really figure out how to escape. There are obviously ways to avoid bears but in some unlucky situations or areas bears will be hidden or take you by surprise. So I want to know specifically what is everyone's approach on a surprise bear attack? I don't really mind what the strategy is as I just personally don't enjoy bears. They are overwhelmingly punishing even if you never intended to interact with them so I'll take any cool tricks no matter how easy it is.
