Your post should be in its own thread and pinned to the forum. Great ideas. I'll do all of them.

if you actually do all of them then send pics and maybe even do a letsplay since 20 lives in a hardcore world should be under 10 episodes so not much work editing wise

That's hardcore. I should play on your settings!

    oh you know.
-just have mobs do 400% damage (and give the player max possible HP(35) for compensation but if you want you can leave it at default(15) if you want to practice for playing DarkSouls),
-have temporal storms every 3-6 days that gradually get worse with a max amplitude of 200%,
-have soil and every possible block you can make have physics actually HAVE physics,
-if you want you can make every month have 30 days so when winter arrives you will be royally screwed if you dont hoard some food,
-maybe even set food spoilage speed to super high to ensure you actually wont have any food when winter arrives(not using that because i feel like food spoils fast enough for it to be hard to store),
-set temporal gear uses to a limited amount(not a setting im playing with though),
-speaking of limited amount! why not just give yourself a limited amount of lives!(also a setting im not using because i knew i would be dying a LOT),
-if you enjoy the warped shader that the temporal storms have you can set the storm length to max too(not using that cuz of chiselling reasons),
-set most cubical blocks to chisell-able(because yes and IDK why thats not a default setting to be honest),
-you could also set your spawn in the siberian area to absolutely reduce your chances of living(again not using that because i have the game to be playable and not on ''waterboard me harder daddy'' setting),
-have a forest world start and when you start set the forest on fire(only do that if you want your PC to scream at you for 4+ hours till everything settles...totally didnt do that),
-i set my character to have high cold resistance just cuz it doesnt affect anything in the current version but if you want to play it even in 1.17 then set your character to be really sensitive to low temperatures to force you to either freeze a lot or make a lot of clothes
-basically just go through the settings and go ham with all the possible ways you can make your VS experience feel like a trip through Auschwitz
-and lastly share your pain by playing with a friend so you can both scream and rage at the horrible decisions you two made in life

Why do you need an elevator? In a Minecraft-style survival game where you often go digging around for lots of loot and resources? Where people often make homes high up in the mountaintops?

yeah man idk why people dont enjoy painfully climbing up to their houses every time theyre done mining and stuff XD

i personally LOVE the dreadful walk all the way up and down the mountain every time i need to do absolutely anything in the game besides building my house and even then i compensate my relaxing build by doing some hardcore hiking up and down the mountain for additional building blocks while getting chased by at least 2 wolves and 3 drifters in the middle of the night while the rift activity is high and or during a temporal storm

currently there are only a hand full of animals in the game and i think a few more would make the world just a little more alive

Mice and rats could spawn in cellers where you store your food and try stealing from open barrels

crows that fly in circles above your fields and try to eat your crops unless you got a scarecrow

magpies that steal every shiny item droped on the ground and bring it to thier nest

ducks that swim in lakes and fly south in large flocks when winter is near and come back in spring

hawks that fly alone in circles over plains hunting rabbits and racoons

turkeys larger more rare food sources for poultry meat

maybe some insects like earthworms, grubs, centipedes and isopods(kellerasseln) that could have a small chance to spawn whenever a player picks up a rock from the ground could be used as bait when fishing becomes a thing

speaking of fishing grey herons that sit between cattails and try to catch fish them selfs

i could go on endlessly but the animals in VS have such a high quallity in model texture and animation that this small list alone would take a while to implement but i think it would totally be worth it

mice and rats are nice but have them just spawn in your cellar will be a massive nuisance but im all for having them spawn naturally just not IN the cellars

crows are also a good idea but again not for field ruining...im currently playing with a friend and we have rabbits literally randomly spawning inside our greenhouse and eating the plants when were not around and there is no way to prevent it (same reason why im against having mice and rats spawn inside cellars) if mouse traps and rabbit traps get added then maybe ill not complain as much if you can put the traps in cellars and fields to hunt them as an additional source of food but as of right now having parasites/pests randomly spawn straight inside what they are meant to damage/destroy is more annoying than realistic or immersive...back to crows im sure just making a greenhouse should be enough to prevent them from destroying the crops but again as long as they dont straight up spawn inside the greenhouses then im ok with them being added as another pest

as long as magpies dont spawn straight on top of the sparkly things (pretty sure you can see a pattern here) and there actually has to be a nest nearby and they have to spot it and not just bee line towards it like a cruise missile whenever the game registers a sparkly item being dropped...as long as its sensible and not broken then im all for them being added

hawks sound good bUt aGaIn since they are predators they would probably attack a lot of livestock so as long as they have a logical way of spawning and behaving then im all for it (just like the magpie idea i mentioned like 3 or 4 lines ago: only if theres a nest nearby will it then spawn 2 hawks in the nest and have them fly around looking for food and not straight up sniping it better than a csgo player quickscoping through the door gap in The Dust or whatever that map is called)

im all for turkeys as they would be another source of food that could be possibly domesticated (no pattern here since theyre not meant to cause any damage to anything...right?)

having insects for fish bait sounds good (especially earthworms, grubs, centipedes and isopods(kellerasseln) since i dont think they necessarily damage anything...right?)

grey herons sound good bUt As LoNg As ThEy DoNt SpAw- well im assuming theyll be scared of humans anyway so it wont interfere with fishing or anything so im all for it

yeah adding these animals as mods for starters would be a good test of practicality/functionality and especially for me optimisation(because HOLY BALLS do i already have my PC scream at me every time i launch the damn game and thats just vanilla

    Why?

For decoration? To serve a purpose? Just to be cool? To tie into other mechanical devices?

And would it be quicker or slower than a ladder?

    -for elevating purposes

-if done properly an elevator can be part of decoration

-yes elevators are primarily used for vertical transport

-it could be cool if implemented properly in a build

-well now that you mention it  i usually build my mechanical stuff high in the air for wind power so it could be used to elevate people up to the platform so yes it could be tied into other devices

-yes it would be faster than ladders else it wouldnt have much use

Uh... except that coconut oil liquifies at room temperature, so it is not able to seal the crocks unless you live in a cold/cool environment or maybe at certain times of the year. In my own kitchen it is liquid during the warmest summer months and solid the rest of the time.

Ooohh i see well i guess no food sealing then

    Clockwork Lift.

    nice!

glad to see more people requesting lifts/elevators

but i think the lift itself should not be class based

maybe an upgraded and faster/bigger/better one for the clockworker definitely yes

but i think everyone should have access to the starter/primitive/slower  lift/elevator

everything else you mentioned i also agree could be added to spice up the class

and i also would like to see the other classes get even more unique tools too

not too much but just enough to make it worth picking a certain class

    - Hutches OR wire caging for housing

    i absolutely agree

i think working cages are a great idea

not just for rabbits but for chickens too

i would say primarily for transportation

the game already has a cage block but to my knowledge it does nothing

the ability to cage up rabbits and chickens could add another option for traders to buy and sell

also maybe a way to cage up the puppies that traders are already buying and selling without having to trader hop

getting puppies would already be hard enough as you have to basically fight both parents and orphan it in order to be able to catch it and even then its running away from you so you have to chase it through a (usually)bush and tree infested area where you can hardly even see where its running

so having working cages would be great

Rabbits can also be milked irl or used for wool production, so meat + one of these options might suit well. Probably not the milk, as milking rabbits is rare (though not borderline impossible like pigs.)

again i agree at least for the wool

i think another way to get clothing material would be useful

  9. a craftable wooden platform with a frame that has a rope attached to the top

that can be brought up or down using mechanical power that is spinning a spool

(im bad at explaining things so if anyone understands and can explain better then let me know)
