Maybe I'm being stupid somehow but hoppers don't seem to be able to place items into large troughs? They can place into small troughs fine from above but the same setup over a large trough doesn't work. Is it because large troughs expect 2 items per placement and hoppers/chutes can only transport 1? Anyone know of a solution or mod that lets them support it? It's a pretty handy feature for leaving chickens fed with grain for a long time, but now I'm trying to breed cows/boars the large troughs only stacking to 8 and not being able to refill automatically is a nuisance.

For those wondering and find this page, the current method is to melt glue in a pot then pick it out of the pot by opening the GUI and right-clicking the pitch glue while carrying a container. ie: melt glue, open gui, click bowl, hover over glue, right-click to take a portion. I'd assume it'll change again at some point as this is really strange and works differently to everything else afaik.
