It was on a flat stone surface, no water, we are playing fully vanilla multiplayer. I wonder if the server is having issues. I am gonna talk to the owner and see if we can't have inventories kept on death cause its been a constant issue for me. Thank you.

The ten minute grace period has not lapsed. at all. I know it hasn't, so I will get that out of the way now. But almost every time I have died in this game, my death marker is slightly off from where I actually died. and my stuff is EXTREMELY far away from where i died. and sometimes in two or three separate piles. Why is this? What is causing my death marker to be upto 10 blocks away from where I actually died, and my stuff to be within 30 blocks of the death marker.. sometimes making them spawn underground... or on top of a tree. its very frustrating. sometimes I get back to where I was and I cant find my stuff at all. like its completely lost. And its frustrating cause the one time it was a bear who spawned directly in front of me while i was walking that i died to and lost my stuff to. hell at first I thought "maybe my stuff is hidden in the snow" and then bulldozed the snow from an entire chunk... and still didn't find my things. Is this normal?
