Definitely. I'm new here, bought the game 9 days ago. First day of playing I died to wolves and then later a deer (didn't know they fight back lol) So was kinda pissy with the respawn mechanic but the gears aren't all too expensive, once you know where to get them, how to use them, how to earn some currency. Like you said, it's pretty straightforward, just takes some time getting used to. Haven't even died since that deer because I got more strategic with my playing.
