Discovered this game a few years ago on some random forum. It has quickly become one of my favorite games; I'm not quite sure what it is but I just love the world and feeling of it all. Those first few hours just learning everything was magical, and to this day I still have that feeling while playing. 

As someone who played a lot of minecraft when I was in college (and it was in beta), I've always felt that I wanted a bit more MEAT to the game. I never tried the vintagecraft mod, so I hadn't heard of this game until I stumbled upon it by chance. And I have to say, it's almost everything I ever wanted from Minecraft, and much more. I cannot recommend the game highly enough if you love heavy survival simulation games with mining, crafting, and building. 

i just bought this game after catching wind of its existence quite a while back. and WOW!!! i am so happy i decided to go out on a whim and buy it. it is SO cool!!!

i have been a minecrafter since early 2012, and i always craved something more out of it. the progression was too linear and straight-forward. but here, vintage story provides a plethora of new steps and mechanics that help in making the game so much more complex and captivating. i absolutely looove the knapping and pottery mechanic, it is so ingenious (and so satisfying). the realistic fire/torches, the nutrients bars, the temperature drops; these are all just base level things, as i have only just started, but they are exactly what separate it from just being another sandbox game, to actually being a survival game. the element of the temporal entities add another layer that keeps things interesting outside of just the survival.

i bought this for both my partner and i, and i have already drilled in over 8+ hours just overnight! there is so much more i can't wait to discover.

despite the fact that it is an indie game constructed by only a small team, it runs absolutely seamlessly. i have not experienced any glitches, and despite the gorgeous graphics, it is not at all as demanding as other games in its genre. i would provide small critique but as it is still being updated and edited i don't feel that it is warranted. i  have full trust in whatever you guys are working on.

keep up the good work, devs!! i am beyond excited for any new content you guys conjure up; what you have created so far is brilliant. 

If someone told me that all games would be eliminated and I had to choose one to play for my entire life, that game would be this one.

I think I don't need to explain more but, this game have alllllll the things a game needs: Building, Crafting, Farming, Exploring, Combat.... EVERYTHING.

Oh and, if you want something new, just make a mod, it's 100% based on the mod API so... it's relatively easy to mod.

You have a potato pc? You can play it!
You have Linux or Mac? You can play it!
You want to play with friends? Hohoho, make a server lol

If you're getting bored of playing minecraft for the past, like, 15 years, this is the best thing that could happen to you. I stumbled upon a video of "The Show" that talked about this, thinking it was a simple modpack for MC. But it's so much more than that. It has a satisfying learning curve, and rewards you in a lot of ways for trying new things. Harder than MC, but the ammount of content makes it that after playing for 50+ hours in a default world, I haven't grown bored yet. I'm so glad I found this game, and if you're hesitant about buying this, if you have the means, go support the devs and treat yourself with a copy of the game.

Es un juego muy completo y super entretenido. El precio que tiene es lo que vale y la verdad que por el contenido que tiene está extremadamente bien. Las cosas que puedes hacer en este juego escapan a la comprensión humana, y también destaca la atención al detalle que posee. El hecho de que los procesos, como la creación del cuero con los baldes, sean tan similares a la vida real, le da un toque aún más interesante. Además, se actualiza constantemente, y espero que algún día el PVP sea mucho más preciso en servidores con más jugadores, para convertirse en un mmo survival con estas tremendas mecánicas.

FR : Je suis tombé sur ce jeu grâce au youtuber "Farfelin". Son gameplay narratif m'a poussé à vouloir tester Vintage Story à mon tour et je ne suis clairement pas déçu.
Un grand merci aux développeurs et à la communauté. J'espère que davantage de joueurs puissent découvrir cette petite pépite à leur tour.
Je suis venu car je pensais que ce jeu allait être une version de minecraft pour l'adulte que je suis aujourd'hui et je suis resté pour son coté immersif ainsi que pour tous les points qui le différencient de son "grand frère".
Si vous hésitez à acheter le jeu, notez que la politique de remboursement est plutôt large (2 semaines après achat ou bien 10h de jeu).

EN : I came across this game thanks to the youtuber "Farfelin". Its narrative gameplay made me want to try Vintage Story myself, and I'm clearly not disappointed.

I came because I thought this game was going to be a version of minecraft for the adult I am today, and I stayed for its immersive quality and for all the points that set it apart from its "big brother".

This is no doubt the best game that I have tried. I got my sister hooked and she is already ahead of me! I first found out about it a while ago on my favorite YouTube channel. I was instantly in love and about a year or so later I was finally able to get it! Definitely recommend for minecrafters who want something more. The price is a steal in my opinion and the game was worth every penny! It even runs okay on my mom’s old windows laptop. It really is “a survival game at it’s best.”

After some time of not logging in to the game, it completely refused giving me access to my game account (I can still use forum account). 

Nevertheless, I love this game and I wish more people knew about it

So not sure how I never heard of this game but I'm glade I stumbled upon it. First I love survival games especially mining and digging and building, I was hesitant to buy because of the other block game and this looking similar, and this is miles different then that game. There are few games that make you actually time travel and want to keep playing and this game will have you going to bed planning what to do your next play session. This game has so many awesome things that sets it apart from other games the feeling of accomplishment is deep and well thought out . Things like smithing, kapping and clay forming are just genius other crafting games should take note . I could go on and on I have a feeling this game will absolutely explode in the future and at my age 45 years of gaming this one is at the top .

I like hitting rock with stone, make brain feel good.

Honestly this game is something else entirely. When I first saw it my thought was "oh it's like a cool modpack for minecraft" but I was far from right. This game is so much deeper than that and it's hard to put into words how amazing the experience is. I don't normally give games high praise like this but Vintage Story (and the team behind it) really earned a high rating. The gameplay is challenging but fair, the world is gorgeous and the experience overall is better than anything I can get in any other game at this time. It just feels so unique and inspiring to play, I cannot state how much fun this game brings me and I cannot wait to play it with my friends once they purchase it. This game has changed the way I feel about others in terms of open world survival games and has opened my eyes to what a small, dedicated dev team can accomplish. I wish them luck continuing to update this game and I look forward to full release! Until then I will keep playing and easily return even when I take a long hiatus.

Vintage Story

A game which most always ends up being called a Minecraft clone and sure, it does have the same idea. But Vintage Story is Minecraft, but more in-depth with certain mechanics. Some can be tiresome, but even so. They're still amazing and fun in one way or the other. It's a game with a darker story, it has a different type of world exploration. It's fun to hear the wind howling, watch the trees and grass being affected. Walking around and finding supplies, crafting and mining for certain ores. What I love about this game, is the smithing mechanic. It's just so much fun and makes sense. It can be annoying to do certain things. But those can be surpassed, once you've gotten a bit further. You can make a windmill, which can make most of the smithing automatic, rather than done by hand.

There's so much more to this game. But I can truly recommend it.

I've had this game a few years now.

Background info, I came from the other popular block game which I fell out of love from. The other game was my favorite survival / building outlet game up until around the full release when they added the broken hunger system (way too easy to basically ignore) and it became far too unfocused on actual survival.

There are modpacks that do add some of the features of this game back into the limelight, but why try and play a modpack when you can play a game solely focused on hardcore survival.

I don't really have much else to say, it's great and if you enjoyed the alpha / beta versions of Minecraft more than the later versions I can probably assure you this game will tickle your fancy.

Después de jugar este grandioso juego en un mundo normal sin alternar nada y más de 100 horas jugadas, puedo decir que este juego es muy diferente a otros, por el motivo de que es bastante realista y no solo por sus gráficos, si no por aplicar la física y darle un toque de realidad, no se ni cómo describirlo, todo lo que se puede hacer en el juego tiene sentido, es tan maravilloso que nos le encuentro nada malo, solo puedo decir que es un juego muy adictivo y no te aburrirás, llevo más de 100 horas de juego y he disfrutado cada segundo, y pienso jugarlo por mucho tiempo más, es una buena compra si buscas un juego al cual no encontrarás fin, al principio puede parecer difícil, pero con el tiempo verás que eso que era difícil será muy fácil en el futuro, si lo vas a jugar te aconsejo seleccionar las teclas que vas a utilizar para jugar, de ese modo se facilitará bastante, en fin este juego es maravilloso, ese es mi punto de vista.

"Wow, I'm such a noob. Minecraft really is extremely easy and peaceful mode even on hardcore. Is this world really normal difficulty? Didn't I accidentally set it to extreme?"
I loved how this game kept me interested and motivated, it has all the instruments it needs to get popular. Guys, we have to make everyone know about this game.

Very nice game, I love the realism and this is probably the only game that's made me genuinely scared in a long time. 

10/10, The game doesn't even feel like early access. I would highly recommend this game to anyone. This game truly is a gem.
