This game is the definition of perfection. It is fun all the way through, and its easy to grasp systems for they are very grounded to real life. Simply amazing game, and I've gotten up to the iron age so far. can't wait to play more.

Maybe it's not a surprise, but I played a lot of minecraft, and when I say a lot, I mean for 11+ years and in survival, creative, making custom maps with command blocks, creating mods, texture and ressource packs, on servers, hosting servers using online hosts like athernos, hosting servers myself using an ubuntu server... I probably played more than 10k h of minecraft, and now with very slow evolution and low content updates, I'm getting bored very quickly.

As I usually do I was watching random youtube videos and ended up on some other kind of "I survived 100 days in *random survival minecraft modpack*". I've seen a lot of thoses, either too easy and not even fun except in some kind of scripted scenario, or way to hard with way too much grind because drop rates are low or because the process simply take hours but is mandatory to go to the next step of the game.

I watched all the video, and then decided to check what modpack the youtuber was using, never seen these kind of items and mecanics before, "knapping" and "smithing" ? Thoses where new... And welp, I ended up here.

After watching the trailer, youtubes about it, I decided to try this game. Now, I don't usually buy random games, I prefer to use a good old methode call "cracks" that some of you may know, it may not be very legit but I don't want to buy a game and then regret my choice and simply losing 20€. So that's what I did, and I played it. Like a lot, around a month actually.

I simply couldn't stop playing : basicaly being able to play minecraft but with no prior experience, but also a way more enjoyable experience, way more mecanics, actual lores, complexe progression process but also multiple ways to grind the materials, the musics and sound effects... Playing single player for a single month was enough for me to decide to buy the game.

Now I want more, I want to experience multiplayer, mods, and whatever this game has to offer. And I want to support this wonderfull dev team and see what their plans for the future of this game are. I want to return to when I started playing minecraft, but with vintage story.

For anyone who will be reading this, I can already tell you : this game is worth it's price, neither minecraft or terraria can beat this masterpiece in term of "survival experience", and I'm sur that it will only improve overtime.

I love this game. It has great modability and is AWSOME with friends. On the self hosting side of things the server is multithreaded so HUGE W.

For those going in blind, the game is difficult, but not overbearing. Everything makes sense and when you can't find what to do next, look at the in-game helpbook.

Everything in this game is amazing and it's obvious that it was, and is, made with care. I heavily recommend this to anyone looking for their next survival.

I was reading a book titled "The Era of Vint" and my friend asked me if I was reading a Vint age Story and I was like "... say that again..."

Wanted to have something like Wurm Unlimited mixed with Minecraft and it delivered! Nothing will beat my nostalgia for Wurm but this game rocks and is special.

Game isn't even done and it's already the single greatest sandbox-survival, I haven't even bothered to touch minecraft in eight months lmao.

Finding this game was a breath of fresh air. I've been a fan of That Block Game since I was a young teenager, and Vintage Story gives me the same wonder I once felt when I was new to that game but what feels like a thousand-fold. I have been singularly obsessed since installing, and sometimes even when I'm doing other things I'm excitedly looking forward to my next project. I can tell I'm going to be hooked on this game for many long and happy years. I'm so excited to see where the devs are going next!

The lore is amazing, one of my favorite games of all time and reached easily a 100 hours way faster than I thought. I would say go as slow as you need to and have fun, it's definitely a journey and not a destination kind of experience. Proprietary modding is amazeballs.

I love this game, it really is a vintage story. Those who say that it's like minecraft should play the game, this is so much better than minecraft!

I'm not sure what to say about this game that doesn't speak for itself. One thing I can say, is that I love this game with everything in me, and I'm happy to stick along for it's ride. :)

This is the most immersive and atmospheric survival game that I've played since Valheim, and it kept me up at night thinking about what challenges I'd take on for the next day after work.

Its greatest strengths are in in its commitment to faithfully representing the complexities of the physical world (models of rock and ore distributions, biomes, weather, etc) and technology (mixtures of metals to form alloys, forging, mechanical devices, clothing and structural insulation, food spoilage, etc.).  I feel far more accomplishment in learning these complexities than I would in simply grinding my way up another numerical level of skill and unlocking more capabilities, as is the case in other games.

I might wish for the default settings of the game to be more forgiving, allowing one to layer in more challenge through the Settings options.  Or at least I'd wish to place the spawn location far from wolves and bears by default if the tutorial mode is selected.  For example, I had really wanted my son to take to VS as he did with (that other block game), but he insisted on playing it on the default settings that are rather hardcore because he believed that was how the game was meant to be played.  Alas, despite my advising him he died many times, always starting over from scratch, and eventually burned out before reaching bronze.  I hope to convince him to return to it with me, perhaps in multiplayer co-operative mode.

Best game I've played all year, I wish I had gotten it sooner. There's definitely a learning curve and you have to do a LOT of exploring sometimes, which I normally am not tooo much of a fan of, but this game is different as a good chunk of it is focused on the natural world, and it's made me enjoy discovering new places and leaving the comfort of my base. It's way more fun than your standard survival-craft game and very satisfying. There are a lot of tutorials online if you struggle finding direction on what to do next and how to do it, and is just overall an awesome and refreshing experience with how much low quality stuff is being sold on the market. This is incredibly well polished for being early access, I highly recommend!
