I really love this game!

The survival mechanics are so enjoyable.
I can finnaly live out my creativity in the game.
It gives so many building block options even vertical slabs, and a built in world edit.

And the game is just so optimalised unlike other block games.

I hope they add:
- butchering (there are a mod for this but its should be in the game by deafult)
- aligators, Frogs, turtles and other reptiles
- painting (so i can use linen for canvas)
- chiselable doors, chests and chairs (because the chisel is already a thing in vintage story but only for blocks)
- rivers
- more wallpapers, windows, weapons (like zweihänder), astrology (connectable stars to make constellations and name them)
- wall painting

My apology if my english is a bit bad, im from hungary.

This game gets me excited about the mere concept of limestone or borax. It's probably the most satisfying game I've ever played; when you get your first clay pot or your first copper pickaxe, you feel like you truly accomplished something. The level of customization with difficulty and world generation are wonderful, and you can really cater the game to any experience you want. Don't be ashamed to play with keep inventory on... it makes it more fun!

Once you start modding, like with Rimworld, you never come back.

Any game with enough content to make me go 'Wait we can do this?" several times in an hour is a win in my books.
Stable and well made multiplayer. A dedicated server build that can run on a raspberry pi. Do wish the game had a better guide system, since I had to look things up multiple times (Not a big fan of text tutorials)

Wanted to have something like Wurm Unlimited mixed with Minecraft and it delivered! Nothing will beat my nostalgia for Wurm but this game rocks and is special.

Game isn't even done and it's already the single greatest sandbox-survival, I haven't even bothered to touch minecraft in eight months lmao.

Finding this game was a breath of fresh air. I've been a fan of That Block Game since I was a young teenager, and Vintage Story gives me the same wonder I once felt when I was new to that game but what feels like a thousand-fold. I have been singularly obsessed since installing, and sometimes even when I'm doing other things I'm excitedly looking forward to my next project. I can tell I'm going to be hooked on this game for many long and happy years. I'm so excited to see where the devs are going next!

The lore is amazing, one of my favorite games of all time and reached easily a 100 hours way faster than I thought. I would say go as slow as you need to and have fun, it's definitely a journey and not a destination kind of experience. Proprietary modding is amazeballs.

I'm not sure what to say about this game that doesn't speak for itself. One thing I can say, is that I love this game with everything in me, and I'm happy to stick along for it's ride. :)

Wanted to add visual aid for THE BEAR PIT

Pretty cool game tbh.

Definitely not for everyone, but I'd recommend giving it a try. It's TASTEFULLY difficult, which is something a lot of games can't get right. The mod Terrafirmacraft is either too difficult or too easy at times, and other games like Project Zomboid (Very different btw) get it right, but it seems like a lot. I've probably sank 20+ hours into Vintage Story, and I haven't made it past the copper age due to my own negligence. If you're unsure of the game, I still recommend giving it a try. The devs offer a generous refund policy (10 hours max of playtime for refunds), which is plenty of time to see if you like the game or not.

Personally, I'm excited to make pies. Pot pies, chicken pies, PIES. THIS GAME IS AWESOME.

(P.S. Bear pit lowkey the meta, especially in early game. Dig a 3 by 3 by 3 hole in the ground with block surrounding the edges, lead the bear into the pit. BOOM, free bear pelts.)

Now it is very easy to compare Vintage Story to Minecraft, but other than the blocks and crafting, they are nothing alike. At first I thought, “oh just another Minecraft clone,” but as I looked into it more, I became more aware of how different (and hard) this game is. So I bought it and honestly, I simply cannot go back to Minecraft now. Vintage Story is just so much more in depth and complex in all areas, and much slower to, this made me slow down and recognize that in this game, you start out as part of the wildlife, helpless and running for your life. But as you progress, you begin feeling more confident, even something as small as killing a chicken feels like a huge victory, breaking each voxel to create a knife, burning firewood into charcoal, getting your first copper tools, all taking hours each to complete, you feel accomplished and proud of yourself. I’ve only played for about five hours now, but those were some of the best I’ve ever had. This is all that I’ve wanted in a game and more. Thanks for taking the time to read my comment; I hope it has convinced you to buy this game.

Fell in love with the game. Never got deep into any other voxel or even survival games for more than 10 hours, but vintage story is EXACTLY what I was looking for. I feel bad only paying the asking price for such a great experience. I play with everything vanilla but the rifts are turn off for now until they make something more out of them, but the rest of the experience is really incredible. THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart to the dev team, you guys are truly building something GREAT. Can't wait for what the future is holding for this amazing project!!!

(if you could make so that drifters would not constantly make noise at night while running against my front door, which sadly IS DRIVING ME INSANE I would re-enable the rifts... Other than that I have no real negative on the ENTIRE experience, and that is saying something, I can be kind of a princess lol)

Me and my wife bought this after it had been on my radar for about a year. The first night we had it, we played over 11 hours straight, until 4 in the morning. This game is everything I have ever wanted, in terms of challenge, survival, customization, everything. One click modding, complete control over the world settings, a simple and intuitive crafting guide and gameplay guide built right into the game, everything just works. For $22 this is a steal.

Incredible detailed gameplay, fun and interesting story that doesent get in your way, exploration feels amazing and survival feels like your actually trying to survive. Horror elements that I didnt initially know about but were a welcome surprise that enriched gameplay.

Only issue was memory leaks, 16G's of ram felt like it would be enough but unfortunately you have to sacifice alot of visual fidelity to make it work properly.

Very good game, looking forward to playing through further updates!

This game made Minecraft look like a knockoff! Love this game, everything is fun to do, there's so much to explore, so much to do- even the difficult things are fun, like for example making steel, and other stuff kinda like the sort!

Keep up the incredible work Anego!

This is the most immersive and atmospheric survival game that I've played since Valheim, and it kept me up at night thinking about what challenges I'd take on for the next day after work.

Its greatest strengths are in in its commitment to faithfully representing the complexities of the physical world (models of rock and ore distributions, biomes, weather, etc) and technology (mixtures of metals to form alloys, forging, mechanical devices, clothing and structural insulation, food spoilage, etc.).  I feel far more accomplishment in learning these complexities than I would in simply grinding my way up another numerical level of skill and unlocking more capabilities, as is the case in other games.

I might wish for the default settings of the game to be more forgiving, allowing one to layer in more challenge through the Settings options.  Or at least I'd wish to place the spawn location far from wolves and bears by default if the tutorial mode is selected.  For example, I had really wanted my son to take to VS as he did with (that other block game), but he insisted on playing it on the default settings that are rather hardcore because he believed that was how the game was meant to be played.  Alas, despite my advising him he died many times, always starting over from scratch, and eventually burned out before reaching bronze.  I hope to convince him to return to it with me, perhaps in multiplayer co-operative mode.

Best game I've played all year, I wish I had gotten it sooner. There's definitely a learning curve and you have to do a LOT of exploring sometimes, which I normally am not tooo much of a fan of, but this game is different as a good chunk of it is focused on the natural world, and it's made me enjoy discovering new places and leaving the comfort of my base. It's way more fun than your standard survival-craft game and very satisfying. There are a lot of tutorials online if you struggle finding direction on what to do next and how to do it, and is just overall an awesome and refreshing experience with how much low quality stuff is being sold on the market. This is incredibly well polished for being early access, I highly recommend!

One of the best made survival games I've played in many years, blending arcade realism with deep immersion in a masterful way.

The mechanics are very unique and the vibe is exquisite. Most important the dev team is focused and knows what they're doing. They have bite sized updates planned out, they check in on us regularly to let us know what's happening and keep the community alive. Also it runs on linux and the system requirements are itty bitty for a game of its scale. Check back in a year if you don't like the game as it is, chances are they added/fixed a bunch of stuff in that time.
