I have never been the type to buy many games
I only spend money on something that truly captures me and feels worth more than a few hours of distraction

Vintage Story completely exceeded my expectations
It is one of those rare games that does not just entertain you but pulls you in completely
From the first time you step into its world there is this quiet and haunting atmosphere
The sound of wind through the trees the distant calls of creatures and the soft glow of morning light all make it feel alive in a calm and mysterious way

What makes it special is how everything feels earned
Nothing is given easily yet nothing feels unfair
Building a shelter before night falls finding your first copper vein or surviving the first harsh winter all carry a deep sense of achievement

It is not about rushing or grinding
It is about existing in a world that feels real and alive
A world that challenges you rewards your patience and makes you appreciate every moment you spend in it

To the developers thank you for creating something so genuine
You did not just make a game
You built a world with soul and atmosphere that stays with me long after I stop playing
Every cent I spent was worth it

Absolutely addicting. This game is genuinely amazing. Some of the game mechanics are so deep and has more depth than most AAA games.  Solid and amazing. If the combat improves and the lore/vision of the game gets more realized. This game will be special

jesuz this game is everything i wanted from Minecraft

honestly, after playing this game for awhile i just can't go back XD

the scope is big and the gameplay is so immersive and fun
and goodness it's beautiful

I hope the combat get revamped because it's very point and click like minecraft

An amazing, immersive survival experience. Must buy for those who enjoy harder survival games that don't compromise their sandbox elements.

Amazing game. Grew up with Minecraft, Minecraft is too immature and simple to entertain me in my 20s. Picked this game up, and I've really been enjoying it so far. It's nothing like minecraft, it just has a vaguely similar artstyle. The game offers a very unique survival experience with an interesting lovecraftian horror twist. Excited to see where they take the lore involving the rust world, I just love this game. If you love minecraft and RPG survival games this game is perfect for you.

In short, if you enjoy Minecraft, or similar games, but wish it was more realistic and immersive, this is the game for you. 

For a long time i had been playing Minecraft. Mods, texture packs, shaders, the whole 9 yards. But there were usually still things that i just couldn’t find mods for, like more in-depth smithing, farming, weather, seasons, etc. This game covers most of those, and if it doesn’t there might be a mod for it. Actually found VintageStory through the discord server for the Conquest Reforged MC mod.

But even to compare VS to MC is a misjudgement as they’re less alike than games in other genres i could name.

After pulling the trigger on buying this game, i haven’t had second thoughts on wether or not it was worth it for me. It’s the closest thing to what i had been looking for for a long while.

In addition, if you ever get stuck and don’t know how or what to do, you can find help either on their discord server or wiki, which I’ve taken advantage of a fair amount.

At the time of writing this i have close to 40 hours on my world in 1.17.9, and still feel like there’s so much more I could and want to do, it’s honestly astounding.

I feel like if i tried to write this review to include everything i enjoy about the game, it would be closer to a research paper, or novel, than a review for a game.

Definitly one of my favorite games, will probably bother some friends into trying it out as well. Overall, great game, and looking forward to more content, not just from the devs, but from the modders as well!

most-promising project in the video game field

This game is amazing, so many features and it isn't even complete yet. It's completely playable for sure, but to think soon there will be more lore and more content is nuts. Also the easily available modding scene and servers just improves it exponentially!

Great game. It needs a little bit more animal friendship is magic and it would be even better. No dogs/tamed wolves. Why make raccoons so cute but I cannot feed berry? Allow me to show the creatures affection
