how to equip / un-equip off hand?

Did a search but couldn't find anything on this topic. How exactly do you equip / un-equip an item from the off hand?

Two ways:

1. Use your cursor to click the item from inventory and place it into the off-hand slot
2. Select the item (i.e., hold it in your right hand), then press X

Note that only some items can be held in the off-hand, like shields and light sources.

Hi by default its 'x' on your keyboard to put switch items between hands
