Builder Bob Posted September 4, 2023 Report Posted September 4, 2023 Hey folks, Wandered back to the game after quite a while. Is there a way to repair armor nowadays? Also, what is a good armor set to shoot for for basic cave exploration? Thanks in advance!
Owktree Posted September 4, 2023 Report Posted September 4, 2023 Yes you can repair armor. Materials needed vary by the armor type. If you are not going deep into caves a Tier 2 armor can do if don't expect to fight many or high-level foes. I personally am a fan of the cloth gambeson armor (preferably the tailored version) since it has low penalties for wearing it, can be repaired with cloth, and is not that hard to make. For deeper runs where some of the nastier drifter types and locusts can appear than I'd say a good Tier 3 armor might be appropriate. The Blackguard Armor takes a decent amount of iron smithing to repair if you find or trade for the pieces but is a pretty good set. 1
Retsof90 Posted September 4, 2023 Report Posted September 4, 2023 I have a question as well. how does armor damage % affect its protection?
Builder Bob Posted September 4, 2023 Author Report Posted September 4, 2023 I'm afraid I don't know how protection is calculated but there is a fairly complete description in the armor section of the wiki that might help.
Veil Posted September 27, 2024 Report Posted September 27, 2024 If you can't figure out why you can't heal yourself with Salves, Bandages, and Food while fighting... It's your Armor. Heavy Plate armor is -33% Healing PER ITEM EQUIPPED! So if you're wearing the Helmet, Body, and Legs that's negative 100% Healing. Wear lighter armor with less negative effects, or retreat, unequip, heal up, re-equip, then get back in there! Hope this helps!
