Figured it out, windows had blocked the public route all i had to do was go into windows and allow the public options and it works now

Hi! Could you please share, where exactly you allowed these public options? I am currently encountering the same problem, but the thing is that I have already turned off my firewall and allowed vintage story to go through the firewall in all networks (public and private).

Not sure if this is exactly what OP was talking about, but if you type Allow and app through windows defender firewall and open it in the windows search bar, then find the vintage story server exe and allow it through there. Just hit the change settings button which requires admin permissions and you'll be able to edit them on the page.

what OP did was go into firewall in windows, since windows has built in firewall software that some times blocks programs/games on default, by either not listing them or having public and local network unchecked.

So if not listed you add vintagestory process file of server to it and check the public and local network and save that should allow traffic for both networks on server.
