drakrochma Posted January 25, 2025 Report Posted January 25, 2025 Hi, I have a 4090 and a TV with HDR as monitor. I use to have HDR enabled all the time. But if I play VS, HDR keeps turning off, once I tab out of the game. Is there a way to keep HDR enabled in VS? Did I miss some setting or could I do so by using a mod or something like this? 1
Ryan Nienhuis Posted January 25, 2025 Report Posted January 25, 2025 Do you mean it keeps turning off in the windows display settings, or just in the game itself? I just leave HDR on all the time in windows. It stays on when I alt-tab. The only problem is that neither RTX HDR or Auto HDR seem to work for Vintage Story, so it looks the same as when HDR is off. If it matters, im running a 4080 Super. Its not the same card as you, but its close. Like one step down or something.
Ryan Nienhuis Posted January 25, 2025 Report Posted January 25, 2025 Oh, hey, I just remembered something, and this MIGHT work to fix your issue. You should go in the "Manage 3D settings" in the NVIDIA Control Panel and look at the bottom of the list. Is "vulkan/opengl present method" set to "Prefer layered on dxgi swapchain"? If its not, then try setting it to that.

There was some kind of powersaving mode activated in the monitor, that caused only the active window to be brighter, why ever and how ever... Seems like LG has some strange settings ...
