Kevin Eric Snell Posted January 28, 2025 Report Posted January 28, 2025 I don't have a 1-to-1 comparison, since I left my old 1.19 world and started a new one, but... it seems like ice is melting more realistically in springtime after this latest update. What's everyone else's experience? In 1.19 I was seeing lake ice hang around into summer every year, effectively never melting. In 1.20, it's not perfect, with a few frozen ponds in 20+ degree weather, but it seems much better than before.
LtMare Posted February 5, 2025 Report Posted February 5, 2025 I'm on my first playthrough and I just noticed the issue of all the ice not being gone by summer. Now I'm in August on a (1.20 gen world) and I still have ice hanging around in seas and in lakes. Some areas are 1/3 ice. Glad it was a known issue and not just a me thing.
DocOMalley Posted April 29, 2025 Report Posted April 29, 2025 Seems like people are still having the issue https://github.com/anegostudios/VintageStory-Issues/issues/2319 It would be nice if we could turn off the ice and leave the snow on until they will fix it. Now you can only turn off snow and ice together and after that i miss the snow :/

Given we start the game in May and there is no ice, me thinks the fix could use some more adjustment.
CookiePsycho Posted July 12, 2025 Report Posted July 12, 2025 (edited) Same, Ice Ice baby Lakes gets frozen around you only... makes it to like 40-50 blocks from shore, but as long as lake (or sea) is big enough then everything else is not frozen. Same goes for melting. Only melts in some range around you (kinda square shaped around) Edited July 12, 2025 by CookiePsycho
