2x4 Gates as double doors

I have noticed that 2x4 gates seemingly can only be placed with the hinges on the left side, making double doors or even just a door that opens to the left impossible with them, am I missing something or is this just something missing from the game?

ok so it seems the second door was just "blocked" by the blocks on the right side of the 4x4 space we had, despite not intersecting with the door at any point, very strange behavior.

I have the same issue managed to place a set of double doors (2 by 4 gates) but on another building I cannot place them the same way, they open indenpendently.

I have had this problem a few times.  However it almost always works if you place the right one first, stand inline of the right gate and place the left one on the block you want it aiming at the right nearest corner.  Hope that helps.

Having an issue where I have two of the "2 by 4 Gate" separated by a block between, where one right-click opens both gates. The issue is the fact that I have one set of double doors gates like this that work perfectly, but it was a hassle getting it setup. Now, I have the same thing where I cannot get it to work. I've tried all the different positioning things but I cannot get the second set of double gate doors working, even when the frame(s) of both set of doors are identical, including gate size and material -- down to the chisel. Just curious if anyone in this thread encountered a(ny) similar issue(s).
