ToeSuckingTerror Posted February 19, 2025 Report Posted February 19, 2025 I would really like the option to add things like colored cloth, colored cloth blocks, or leaf blocks to chisel-able blocks. Preferably the less creative usage the better. I'm currently in the process of making custom greenery on lattices and walls, and there isn't really a good green material I can use. Peridotite materials don't look very good in terms of being used as flora, and creative grass changes color during different seasons. I think the only block currently I feel I could use for my purpose is the Aged Peridotite Ashlar blocks. (creative grass, polished peridotite rock, peridotite rock, peridotite sand, kapok log, creative color 10, aged peridotite ashlar block) I definitely feel adding colored cloth blocks would greatly expand on the chisel mechanics. It would make detailing furniture, curtains, sails, etc. so much better. Thanks.
JAGIELSKI Posted February 19, 2025 Report Posted February 19, 2025 Or being able to get colored materials that are creative mode-exclusive legitimately in the game. Also, if you are into chiseling, I really recommend Chisel Tools mod, it gives a lot of QoL to the chiseling experience as well as it has a palette tools that let you use color blocks in your chisel builds in survival.
Yerik Posted February 19, 2025 Report Posted February 19, 2025 I made a mod specifically for this reason, adding cloth blocks: https://mods.vintagestory.at/show/mod/19533 And expanded the selection to include leather blocks: https://mods.vintagestory.at/show/mod/19568 Hope this helps.

The creative color blocks don't really have much texture which is unfortunate. I am also very much into chiseling so I'll check out this mod so long as it doesn't add any items or blocks. Thanks. 12 hours ago, Yerik said: I made a mod specifically for this reason, adding cloth blocks: https://mods.vintagestory.at/show/mod/19533 And expanded the selection to include leather blocks: https://mods.vintagestory.at/show/mod/19568 Hope this helps. These two mods are awesome and actually exactly what I want, unfortunately I would prefer to stick with vanilla materials and items. Would be fantastic if these got added to the actually game though. Thank you.
Dilan Rona Posted February 20, 2025 Report Posted February 20, 2025 what I want to see though is a dedicated chisel bag, where chisel bits can go, and the ability to start a chiselling project from scratch, without having to turn an existing block into a chisellable block first. Every time we chisel, there is an enourmous abount of chisellable bits going to waste.

I totally understand the desire to stick with vanilla, that's why I only play with client mods, or mods I understand/have control over. If there are breaking updates I don't want to loose my world. So if I can fix them I can keep my world around forever
