Also i had some thoughts of doing the same starting a community vintagestory server with city for a spawn and with mods that will prevent players from damage, modify the spawn and such. I own the dedicated hardware at a COLO.. thats precisely what i was going to suggest is have an actual city center .. rent out land so new players join thers not leveling struggle as theres an immediate market for them to explore and the ability to set up shp or join another "tribe"

Ill post up an update when its ready for devs to jump in and we can discuss next steps such as a discord etc hit me up on Discord anytime ill get back to you when i can #Pr0fesseur Im open to your opinions on the most public friendly plugins and addons.. just place your ideas here in order of priority. Plato Platypus Posted March 5, 2025 Author Report Posted March 5, 2025 OK Community Server is up and running i was able to get some time away from adulting. Now to go over the mods list. As an open community what mods would you like to see the most? Im a fan of all the advanced foods and crafting mods. as well as better moulds easier knapping, and increasing the abundance of some materials. Im also a fan of having as many tree types and wood types as possible to add variety to the game. better beekeeping is a must as it give a much needed boost to an overlooked mechanic. what else>?

Is there a name you have planned on or still not yet? my ping is decent to the server im west coast usa and get a ping of 170ms thats perfectly fine for vintage story no name we have for it yet.. still putting it together .. its online already we ahve to start installing mods... SLOWLY lol las time I installed too many at once and it shit the bed lol
Plato Platypus Posted March 7, 2025 Author Report Posted March 7, 2025 UPDATE Mods are in! im gonna spend the next day or so going through the configs and make sure theres nothing game breaking.. Then we can focus on building our little town with as many buildings as we can build in a short time, a few paths maybe. Mods installed.. as many as i could! no but seriously most of the decorative non game braking mods i could find. almost every fun sucking fix i could find and a few accessibility mods for those who arent as dextrous as the rest of us.

You cant throw mods in and expect everything to work. things need to be balanced and gameplay must be tested first before we open to the public.. Give us some time to iron out some bugs frist.. last thing we want is to have a large player base and have to do multiple reboots while youre playing. Hope to see you there! We're almost done with building and will be moving onto fleshing out some new lore for the NPC and traders. Ill be working on the nighttime lighting next .. maybe placing strategic fireflies and oil lamps to give some mood to the night time streets. 1

Plato Platypus Posted March 14, 2025 Author Report Posted March 14, 2025 EXCITING UPDATE! Were almost done! sorry for the wait. We wanted to make sure that almost ALL of the mods weve chosen are error free and are maximally functional.. the team and I are pleaed to say that weve rewritten many of the mods to fix the incompatibilities, and update older non functioning mods. This will be the end of phase one of the server config and we are happily putting together phase two after the soft opening of the server. Thankfully the soft opening looks to be this weekend if all bugs get smashed.. And a few broken textures to address as well.. We will be posting the server address and pw in our discord first. please make sure to verify and if you cnnot join PM me right away!
