water in farm not filling in even though all water blocks are connected

 if anyone can tell me why this is happening and how i can fix it, i would appreciate it. i'm new to the game and making my first farm next a lake. i started this in a small pond next to the lake. all of the blocks of water were filled in except for this corner. i thought maybe the water is volumetrically kept track of and there wasn't enough water and if they're all connected then it will even out like in real life so i connected these water troughs to the main body of the lake and it's still happening. not only that but in the connection trough there's a weird dip in the middle that widening it hasn't done anything to resolve.

VS water basically works like MC water. It flows 8 blocks (I think, don't remember the exact numbers) while losing height every block it flows further away from a source block. You'll have to place source blocks (with a bucket for example) to create still water. Water physics would be very cool, though. Maybe one day we'll have something like that.

so i won't be able to fully resolve this until i can craft a bucket?

If you really want to fix the water you can type a command in chat " /gamemode 2 " which will change the mode to creative. In creative mode you can open inventory and just search for still water "block" and place it where the fix is needed ^^ To go back to the survival mode u have to type in chat " /gamemode 1 "
