As the title say, I just entered copper age ! (on a cool seed, gracefully shared by ViridianAether on reddit)

My first stone age dirt house has evolved with a second floor and a cellar, I have a forge now and a small garden. I discover that smal decoration clutter can really add to the cozyness of a house ! That's my first time I made flowerpots :D (and I even installed a mod to have mooooore flowerpots)

I am no architect and until now, I didn't manage to build houses that were appaling. That's why I share it now ! I like it, and thanks for the creative mode because it's cool to have room to experiment ! There's room for improvment of course, but I think I'll stick with it as it is because there are a lot of things to do but perhaps before winter (even if I play with longer months). The plan is to replace the roof with sod, the rammed earth walls with wattle and daub, with the base with drystone or mudbrick (I don't really like the cobblestone), continue to add quartz glass for the windows until I can make proper glass. And then maybe finally play the story :D

Front side of the house

The little garden, not much but that's a start

The backyard has room to improvment, maybe I'll do a berry garden

The main room, with the kitchen

The main room, with storage and bed

The second floor/attic

The forge !

The charcoal kiln and the pit kiln until I can make the beehive kiln

Very nice.  Proportions are perfect and it's cozy af.  Very expadable as well.

This is the kinda build that ages like fine wine the more you use it and fill it up with chiseled furniture, artisan trader goods, and loot.  It could end up in an infinite number of ways and all the stuff you collect will have memories attahced to them and make the playthrough extra special.

I am a huge fan of the super down to earth and "forever unfinished" survival build.  Makes the game feel much more real.  I used to wait until I had the fancy materials but these days getting a small wattle and daub and ruin-scavenged brick house up ASAP is my favorite base style right now.

Thanks !

I am indeed a more cozy-house type of guy than big castle, probably because I don't have the patience for big construction.

Now, I have an apiery on the front yard ! And I am already thinking of the next step, because I want to start the animal domestication. Il probably move the garden to make a bigger field next to a barn, and the animal pen connected or at least close to it. Maybe I'll replace the small garden with some berry bush and a little lean-to for the fruit press and distillery.

In any case, I think I'll show the evolution when I'll enter the Bronze Age !

Okaaay, now i have just entered the bronze age !

I have modified the materials of the house, added some decors and built a barn ! I am pretty proud of it. I thought of moving my little garden but I haven't made my mind of where exactly so for now it stays where it is. And I have an apiery ! Nice ceramic hives curtesy of From Golden Combs. I also installed the two storage mods from SONZINA, so i'll probably do some reorganising and possibly expand the house. And maybe planning of where I'll build my windmill, wich is my next big building in my list. After that I think I won't be able to escape more prospecting, but this part of the game I don't enjoy so much :/

Front of the house !

Front of the house ! I replaced the rammed earth with mudbrick and wattle & daub. I plan to replace the thatch roof with slate roofing. I wanted to use sod, but after tests in creative I realized that I don't like the aged planks effect soooo... But maybe I'll give the One Roof mod a shot one day.

The apiery !

The apiery ! Not so big but It provide me with enough honey and wax for my uses so for now it'll stays like that.

View from the side

View from the side, the little garden and the barn.

Barn interior

Barn interior. I just begun domestication of boars, sheep and chicken. I don't know yet if I'll goats too, at least not for now.

Barn second floor

Barn second floor. Storage for hay, and I plan to move my alcohol making set up here to free space in my attic. The door lead to a cellar, so I'll be able to store stuff like grain for animal food, cheese and watnot.

Barn cellar

Barn cellar, empty for now.

The forge

Quick view of the forge, no big changes, just a little bit more tidy !

And now, the interior of the house ! I replaced the floor, the bed and added a bit of decors.

The attic

And to end our tour, the attic ! I even add spiderwed from ruins, that make the room more alive :D

Hm, I will probably not have lots of time to play this world until the 1.21 is out and once it's out there i'll start a new save I think.

I think I'll just keep the thread to share my bases and their evolution, even if it is not the one I started to share here.

It is a mix between worldgen update in the upcoming 1.21 (even if not game breaking, i'd feel safer to just start over)

Spoiler
Quote

Feature: World generation tuning

  • Tweak: Majorly reworked landforms to be more easily traversable. Warning: Will produce terrain smoothing between old chunks and new chunks
  • Tweak: Enabled 2.5% ocean at 500% scale by default
  • Tweak: Fixed an issue with ocean gen where high landform scale would produce very square shaped oceans
  • Tweak: Added small red clay deposits in soil and gravel in cold climates where clay previously did not generate
  • Fixed: Worldgen creature spawning could sometimes spawn groups of babies (or more generally, companions) only
  • Fixed: Chunk border smoothing system not working properly
  • Fixed: Large world height worlds had less surface deposits (Technical info: Correctly scale surface deposit chance by deposit depth to world sea level)
  • Tweak: Added 3 new ruins, fine tuned a few others

and also a few mods that i'd like to add in my plays that are better added on new games (like i've been itching to test Better Traders)

Well best of luck to you my fellow Vintarian! I may take a page out of your book and restart a world with the new update as well :)
