daniel herring Posted August 4, 2025 Report Posted August 4, 2025 is there a good mod manager or are there plans for an official one made by the devs that would make installing and managing mods easier
majestik Posted August 5, 2025 Report Posted August 5, 2025 Hello, welcome to the forums, @daniel herring ! There are a bunch of launchers/mod managers on the ModDB (even a plugin for MO2). The roadmap indicate plans to improve ModDB but nothing about making a mod manager per se.

Diff Posted August 14, 2025 Report Posted August 14, 2025 What are you wanting out of a mod manager that we don't have now? One-click installs from the ModDB and being able to enable/disable things in the game itself seems pretty snazzy, but maybe I've been playing/modding too many 2010s games with awful modding support lately to know what's good.
Krougal Posted August 14, 2025 Report Posted August 14, 2025 Well, the search on ModDB is awful. Devs acknowledge it and I think it's on their roadmap to do something about it eventually. Updating is also a bit of a chore. Also a convenient way to have different mod selections for different saves would be great. Yes, the 1 click install is nice, although it is a little clunky, especially if you have a lot of mods to update. Pro tip: Follow any mods you use. You'll get an alert when they update. Granted you still have to login to the ModDB to check, but at least it's there. 1

Having a mod list per save is my #1 wish. Not having a list of what mods were enabled at worldgen (and their versions!) is absolutely why I end up abandoning so many saves once updates roll around. 1

Yeah, this is the case for me in all moddable games I play. I never play a save with the same modlist as the last. I'm sure that's true for a lot of players, yet neither VS nor that other game support it natively. It perplexes me. 1
