Where'd they say that?

The current AI/Low effort blocking system doesn't work.
Diff replied to godlikeion's topic in Suggestions
which is why the tag is specifically "AI/low effort" People are asking for clarity and disclosure, not purity. if someone slaps something together in an afternoon and they never intend to return to it, I would expect that to be labeled, too. When I was still learning my mods were labeled with that info -

Me. Only one of my mods has any amount of AI in it that is clearly labeled as an AI-driven experiment. What else would you like to know? Ignoring the rest of your comment as I don't think chasing purity like this is useful or what anyone here is actually seeking, or as exotic as you're making it out to be. -
If it's about bells, there are closed caption/subtitle mods available (one of em's mine, if you do go that route let me know if there'd be any new features that'd be useful to you).

Try asking over here and check your spam folder if you haven't already.

Errors when trying to light pit kilns
Diff replied to GertTheFrogEnjoyer's topic in Using Mods Troubleshooting
Good luck, I'd look for a mod that adds some type of new held interaction with blocks to start. Actually considering it's two patches it could be two mods doing that that are stepping on each other's toes. Let us know if you find either of em, be interested to know who they are. -
Errors when trying to light pit kilns
Diff replied to GertTheFrogEnjoyer's topic in Using Mods Troubleshooting
Doesn't say which mod, but considering the line of code that's panicking I'm content blaming one of your mods. I see some patched methods on there but no indication of who's patching. -
Does this behavior happen without any mods enabled?

Only 2 mods affected. Playerlist was not actually obfuscated enough to trigger ConfigLib. 20.8%, short of the required 22%. Playerlists was obfuscated because it tried to include its own client-side anticheat, so it obfuscated that portion of the code. ConfigLib checks if it's single player or running server-side before any other checks, and immediately stops if either is true. Only affects clients, only in multiplayer.

You're quoting "poor innocent" people who never said what you say they said so you can get mad at your made up quote that nobody said. You're also somehow inventing a big corpo story out of 22 people arranged in the rough shape of a game studio? Their sales and their alleged legal issues are not our problem. They have already been reported to the cyberpolice by people who later went on to repent for their sins against Anego. Forgiveness awaits you, too, if you can accept it.

If you're just replacing an existing sound, that's all you need. That "Shut The Insects Up!" mod I linked from inside the thread you linked only has these files: ├── assets │ └── game │ └── sounds │ └── creature │ ├── beesting.ogg │ ├── cicada-short-looping.ogg │ ├── cicada.ogg │ └── grasshopper.ogg ├── modicon.png └── modinfo.json Compare to this mod: ├── assets │ └── survival │ └── sounds │ └── creature │ └── bell │ ├── alarm.ogg │ ├── death.ogg │ └── listen.ogg ├── modicon.PNG └── modinfo.json Only real difference besides the asset paths (which are all correct) is the domain, like Brady said.

theory on Open Source Anti-cheat as a mod (Not the current drama)
Diff replied to Zvengks's topic in Discussion
No shade because a literal "Intro to C" class isn't actually required to know anything but thought it was funny you said this considering -
Nexus is THE modding platform. VSModDB is just a lil guy.

If you want to have a good, productive conversation you should seek to not blatantly misrepresent the situation. They are banned, and stretching existing employment and losing control of all of your active passion projects into "free maintenance and a job" distracts heavily from what I think are understandable points you have to make. What are they

Deleting attachments means nobody else can see them, even if they had a direct URL to the uploaded file.

Not possible to do exactly what you're saying currently, but if you go into settings there's the ability to filter out mods that have been reported as "AI/low-effort." Unfortunately this requires people to report it, and I don't think many are.

STEAMOS - updating DotNet from 8 to 10 for the update
Diff replied to StarryNotes's topic in Discussion
Oh wait you're not MirthOfManus, my bad. MirthOfManus said they installed it globally as the root user on SteamOS, I was asking about that because SteamOS often wipes changes to the root partition on OS updates. -

Then I'm confused, if it was installed locally to the folder why install as the root user? -

Did that solution survive OS updates? -
You know bud I'm with the forums on this one. Maybe upload as an attachment?

Flatpak's probably the easiest solution. It works because Flatpaks bundle everything they need inside (more or less). -
theory on Open Source Anti-cheat as a mod (Not the current drama)
Diff replied to Zvengks's topic in Discussion
The server does trust whatever the client says, but should only be certain things the client is capable of telling the server in the first place. I can punch you, the cheat is that the server probably shouldn't let me punch you 20 times in under a second. I can mine a block, the cheat is mining 500. I don't have hands on an actual cheat mod to tear it apart, but based on those strings "Nuker", "KillAura", "InstantShot", those all sound like abuses of normal, expected actions rather than wholesale rewriting reality at every player's whim. RNG is not the kind of thing I would really expect the client to be able to tell the server about.
