Loginvvvvv Posted August 5, 2025 Report Posted August 5, 2025 Hey, I'm new to the game. I was trying to make a cellar by digging a 4 tall 2x2 hole in the ground but it seems to do nothing, everything has 1.64x food spoilage or more, I've been looking up videos on it and all that but it just doesn't seem to work. Am I missing something? Was this changed in a recent update? It is just too hot in the summer? Maybe the spoilage instantly goes up when I open it up to check? I'm just having a hard time here. I skimmed through the forums but didn't see anything on this. Some help would be greatly appreciated. P.S. If I posted this in the wrong location or something similar I apologize, I just saw some other people asking questions about mods and other things and thought this was the place
Solution Krougal Posted August 6, 2025 Solution Report Posted August 6, 2025 It needs to be sealed off, if you are digging it open, it is no longer a cellar at that moment. Dig out enough room for yourself in there and seal the roof over and you should see the timers change. 1
Loginvvvvv Posted August 6, 2025 Author Report Posted August 6, 2025 Thank you! I suspected that was it, but wasn't 100% sure

The values uptate instantly, so if you're entering the cellar by any means other than a solid door or solid trapdoor, then that will affect it. Close the room back off, and check again 44 minutes ago, Loginvvvvv said: It is just too hot in the summer? Outside temperature will affect even the most perfect cellar, so if it's Summer right now for you, then you'll be seeing some of the worst times. 1
