Can cold damage be reversed when the plant is ready to harvest?

I planted my crops too early and due to the temperature fluctuating between below and above 0 degrees my plants were able to grow but kept taking cold damage. The turnips are now at 5/5 but still have the "will only yield 50%" text. If I continue waiting instead of harvesting can I get more or will cold damage not go away since the crops fully grown?

Darn, the guide made it sound like the damage would reverse once the temperature went up. Good to know at least.
