It was something like that. I'm very new so I don't know the terms nor remember the exact wording. Apocolyptical, maybe?

What in the world does that mean?? It was when I pressed C to see the time of day. I ran out of that area as fast as I could though nothing was happening at all (thank goodness).

It would have said "Apocalyptic". This is the highest spawn rate possible for a Temporal Rift.

If you're new, then you may wish to bunker down in a small house WITH LIGHT, which will prevent Drifter spawn.

Especially at night under Apocalyptic, Drifters could spawn in any low light location, which almost certainly will include any dark corner of your home.

Note that these levels are global. Running can only move you away from an active rift or move you out of a temporally unstable zone. But you can NOT run to a lower rift level spot - only time will change the rift level from Apocalyptic to something lower, the best being "Calm."

Greetings Kaedynn,

I am assuming what you might have seen is a stat stating the current rift activity in which apocalyptic is one of the possible values. The rift activity in an area determines how often rifts show up on the surface of the world, with calm being zero and apocalyptic being max. It changes over time like how the weather changes, so an area with medium rift activity will go higher or lower over time. The number of rifts in the area matters as drifters and similar enemies can only spawn in dark areas near a rift on the surface.
