Picking up item, if wrong "thing" i selected

Hi, 

Do you guys know, if it is possible to; pick up a flint, if you have selected the wrong thing to knap? Atm when i try, i'm not able to pick itt up and if I destroy it it gets lost.

Same thing when smithing, if the wrong shape/item is selected, when forgeing an item. I can only reclaim its items, by chopping it up.

If there is a way, I've yet to find it.
