Mr337 M Posted September 9, 2025 Report Posted September 9, 2025 I am new to Linux Mint. I refuse WIndows 11!!! grr.. Anyway, I bought the game, created my account and went here: https://wiki.vintagestory.at/index.php?title=Installing_the_game_on_Linux I then ran flatpak --user install https://flatpak.vintagestory.at/VintageStory.flatpakref And then: flatpak --user remote-add --if-not-exists vintagestory https://flatpak.vintagestory.at/VintageStory.flatpakrepo It looked like it installed, but a search does show it. When I open the software manager and search for Vintage Story, nothing shows up. So I am stuck. Any ideas?
Diff Posted September 9, 2025 Report Posted September 9, 2025 Oh that's nifty, I didn't realize that there was an official Flatpak. If the official one isn't working for you (I'd also try flatpak run at.vintagestory.VintageStory), you might try the one on Flathub: https://flathub.org/apps/at.vintagestory.VintageStory It's been a while since I visited Mint, what software manager does it use?
Mr337 M Posted September 9, 2025 Author Report Posted September 9, 2025 I am using mintUpdate 7.1.1 update manager Oh that command opened it! Thank you so much. I wonder where I can find the install to create a link.
Jesie Posted January 11 Report Posted January 11 I'm having the same problem on Linux Mint, looks like it installed successfully, but no icon and I can't find the folder that it's installed in. A search for Vintagestory only brings up an empty folder in Pictures. That command (flatpak run at.vintagestory.VintageStory) does cause it to run, but is that running the copy on my computer or running direct from the flatpak somehow? I'm also new to Mint, so a little out of my depth, but the instructions on the wiki are not lining up with my experience. I'm just looking to get an icon to launch from if anybody can help, thanks.

Does an icon materialize in the usual places after a restart?
