Laarikin Posted October 4, 2025 Report Posted October 4, 2025 I haven't gotten far in the game, so please take my personal experiences with a grain of salt as I simply haven't experienced everything the game has to offer. Detailed Animal Husbandry I'd like to see animal husbandry be expanded significantly, where breeding animals has a variety of factors you need to track in order to get animals good for specific tasks or production. I'd like to introduce the following variables: 1. Temperament - Personality, aggressive, loyal, brave, scared, etc. 2. Build - Thin, bulky, strong, well-muscled, malnourished, weak, etc. 3. Fur Quality/Color - Different fur quality can be used to make higher quality clothing and materials. Color is good for camouflage or preference. When it comes to breeding animals there are various reasons you'd want to do this, and what you want those animals to be good at. For example, if I wanted to breed wolves to guard and protect my house and me, I'd breed for larger/stronger wolves, that are loyal and brave. The Large/Strong being their build, and the loyal/brave being their temperament. Obviously, these are extremely oversimplified glimpses into the system I'm asking for, I am aware a system like this is an undertaking all on its own. But I think this would make animal husbandry unique and important. This would give players a reason to select specific animals over others, create their own "breeds" of animal and use them for specific purposes. Another example of this system could be meat chickens versus egg laying chickens. You could have a chicken that is in the middle, it doesn't give a spectacular amount of meat nor eggs, but you can choose to breed them and have them specialize in one or the other. Breed a chicken for more meat at the cost of eggs, or vice versa. A system like this makes animals more valuable, especially those that have a lot of time and care placed into making them specialized for a specific job or purpose. You could see more emphasis on having high quality animals in multiplayer economies.
