scr3wballl Posted October 15, 2025 Report Posted October 15, 2025 I have a setup with Linux Mint (latest version 22.x). It was initially installed via flatpak (1.21). All updates via flatpak claim the update is successful, but always start the game with the prior version., not actually updating Every single update requires deleting all files in the installation location, copy the files from the linux installer, and run the install.sh again. If I copy and overwrite the prior files, the game refuses to start stating the game is installed with a prior version, uninstall and reinstall with the latest version. Suggestions?

Do you only have it installed through Flatpak? How do you launch VS? What are you doing with the install.sh?

What are you doing with the install.sh? It wouldn't update via flatpak so i had to reinstall via how I mentioned above (extract files, delete old files, copy new files to same folder, run install.sh). Originally it would run with flatpak run a.vintagestory.VintageStory then when that stopped working I adjusted the script to open the game via /home/me/.local/share/vintagestory/Vintagestory. The last 2 updates showed update via flatpak but it still refused to run via flatpak so manual mode is the only way it updates and runs. Edited October 16, 2025 by scr3wballl
scr3wballl Posted October 29, 2025 Author Report Posted October 29, 2025 Still have the same issue with last few updates. Run flatpack "update", launch game, game still has prior version installed.
