over my time playing vintage story, any time I have had to read anything longer than a line or two in chat has been a painful and frustrating experience due to how short the window is. I have looked high and low to find anyone else discussing the size of the chat window, or anyone who has created a mod to change it, or maybe some hidden mechanism to resize it that was simply evading me, only to come up empty.
So I would like to register my suggestion here: please add a drag point to the top right side of the chat box so that I can freely resize it based on my needs at the time- maybe shorter when I'm just prospecting or talking with fellow players, definitely taller when I'm reading the massive wall of text that comes from running chat commands.
It doesn't necessarily need to resize horizontally, but it might be a nice bonus. The important part, in my opinion, is the vertical size.

I would like to add to this, given the thing I just suggested about blindness/accessibility, being able to resize chat and set font size would be great. These need to be a separate option from the GUI SCALE in INTERFACE options.

You can change the window size by editing the clientsettings.json file located at \AppData\Roaming\VintagestoryData. Look for these lines and edit as you wish.

"chatWindowWidth": 700,
"chatWindowHeight": 200,

I have not yet found a way to edit the X,Y position of the chat box too so if anyone happens to know then please post your secrets.
