argeshnex456 Posted October 26, 2025 Report Posted October 26, 2025 I know that I'm going to be beat down in this suggestion but I think it's needed and would give the world much more depth. I think the same has enough wild animals that can be domesticated to keep the variety and interest of the player base but I think the game is lacking a good choice of predatory animals given just how many biomes and climates there are. Right now the game has only 3 predatory animals, being the hyena, the wolf, and the bear. Now granted these are not the only animals that will throw down with you on sight (looking at you moose) but there should be a larger selection of top food chain items I want to see silverback gorillas in the jungles, I want to see large cats in all forested mountains, I want to see alligators in the swamps and crocks or sharks in the oceans. Each could have its own respective hunting trophies or armor sets. I just think the terror of the bear falters in menace after the fifth or sixth time when you learn that 2 spears can take them down with little to no damage if you run, throw, and juke around. 1

Alligators (or crocodiles?) and hippos have been mentioned as being in the works. Gorillas would be awesome. Fauna of the Stone Age has some truly fantastic predators. 2

That would make the southern reaches more interesting absolutely but I also want the northern regions to be a tad more frightening. I think big cats should have the ability to climb 3 blocks high, gorillas could throw things like drifters. Hippos and alligators would be awesome and very frightening!

I swear I remember reading a lot of that text, but I don't remember the models and animation at all. I see what you mean about the croc animation, but I'm sure it'll be better by the time it's released. And it looks like that might've been planned for 1.21 originally? So maybe it'll come out in 1.22 even. That's awesome. 1
Tabbot95 Posted November 6, 2025 Report Posted November 6, 2025 part of me would like a dwarf fortress style "migrating animals".. but that would likely require all-at-once worldgen like DF; 1
