Samoja Posted December 17, 2025 Report Posted December 17, 2025 Just something I was thinking about, domestic pigs develop bristles like wild boar when they go feral. It would be cool to see domesticated pigs slowly go from brown to pink over the course of generations, possibly with increase in meat production as well. I don't really know what sort of visible change other animals may go trough, maybe for goats it would lead to reduction in horns, chicken could get bigger and plumper etc. 3
Averixus Posted December 21, 2025 Report Posted December 21, 2025 I've been thinking about this idea too. There's something called "domestication syndrome" which is a set of traits that tends to arise in mammals as they become domesticated. Reduced fear/aggression like in the base game is one part of this syndrome, but others are visually apparent - like floppy ears, shorter muzzles, and more varied coat colours. Having an invisible generation counter feels like missing a trick when it could also be shown in the appearance of the animal! 2
TJ Pepler Posted January 2 Report Posted January 2 If you are planning to mod this it should be fairly straightforward I imagine, simply making multiple textures with different shades of pink from default texture at domestication 0 to a full pink piggy texture at domestication 10? then just assign based on domestication level. If you want to go totally crazy and manipulate the shape too you could totally do that, personally If I were to tackle that job I might only change shapes a couple of times maybe like at domestication 3 and 6 and then 10 it's the final Wilbur. Anyways, just a suggestion, I might not have taken all factors into account, just spit-balling 1
BlackMoonHowling Posted January 16 Report Posted January 16 I think about this literally every time I start to domesticate goats and pigs. The same premise could also be applied to foxes, wolves, and rabbits as well.
