lobotorny Posted January 3 Report Posted January 3 Finally got a copper pickaxe cooling, so I could finally use my charcoal to paint. I'm absolutely thrilled. If I didn't have to work today, I'm sure I'd spend hours digging out my cave so I can have more wall space for art. The lack of symbols is a little frustrating, but that just means I have to draw at a much higher scale. Here's hoping we get more simple options soon! Also, any tips on getting other pigments, please share... 10 1 1

Feltmeow Posted January 9 Report Posted January 9 Wow! Those are amazing! There's also hematite and limonite chunks that give reddish and yellow cave paintings, respectively (but only the rich and bountiful chunks), though you'll probably find those much later if you're playing in survival (since they're both iron ores). I put this photo in your other cave painting thread, but I'll put it here too: 2
lobotorny Posted January 10 Author Report Posted January 10 Thank you so much!! This also gives me good info to update my game suggestion (about pigments, lol!)!! This is really helpful, after all my time playing and looking up guides and wikis, I’ve never found this info! 1
Feltmeow Posted January 11 Report Posted January 11 Thanks to Bumber for pointing out hematite and limonite can be used! Hematite also makes for some good blood splatters for creative builds, if that's interesting to you; I think it makes any animal carcasses look more realistic in my creative world, instead of just a well organized, pristine pile of bones, though I don't know if sharing screenshots of that kind of build is frowned upon here. (Limonite also makes for comedically saturated urine puddles if the environmental storytelling clues are of someone taking care of a new puppy .) 1 1
BlackMoonHowling Posted January 14 Report Posted January 14 Those are breathtaking, the amount of movement and depth you captured in the painting of the horse is so beautiful.
