Be eM Posted Friday at 10:08 PM Report Posted Friday at 10:08 PM (edited) Hey, I'm the author of Aldi's Classes. The ability to make trait-specific smithing, knapping, clayforming, alloying, barrel, and coking recipes would be amazing for “division of labor”–style mods and servers. At the moment, only grid recipes can use requiresTrait. Expanding this to other crafting systems would unlock a huge amount of new customization for content mods. My suggestion is not about making anything trait-specific in the base game itself. It’s about providing the option for mods to make both existing and new recipes trait-specific. Classes like the Potter or Blacksmith often feel lacking compared to simpler roles. Especially for the Blacksmith, it can be difficult to justify their existence at all. Examples could include larger bowls for the Potter, improved smithing recipes or even a steel monopoly for the Blacksmith, a special alloy for the Entropic, more efficient knapping for the Wildrunner (Survivalist), better barrel recipes for the Druid (especially in combination with the Alchemy mod), or unique cooking recipes for the Innkeeper (Cook). These changes would greatly enhance gameplay for players who enjoy this kind of division of labor. The base game would remain completely unaffected, while content mods would benefit significantly. Thank you for taking the time to read this. TL;DR: The title says it all and grid recipes feel so bad and immersion breaking. Edited Friday at 10:12 PM by Be eM 1
