BetaPeche Posted yesterday at 12:13 PM Report Posted yesterday at 12:13 PM Hello everyone, I’m having a problem and I’m wondering if there’s a way to recover my items. I died once while exploring and dropped all of my equipment. Before I could return to the location where I died, I died a second time. As a result, the death waypoint on the map was replaced by the new one, and I no longer have the marker for my first death. My questions: Is there any way to find the coordinates of a previous death? Are death locations stored anywhere in logs or save files? Is there a command, debug tool, or method to recover my dropped items? This is a single-player world. Thank you for your help!
Shoom Posted yesterday at 01:40 PM Report Posted yesterday at 01:40 PM If you don't mind "cheating" a bit, you can type /gm 2 in the chatbox, this will let you into creative mode, then press E to enter the creative menu, from there you can spawn whatever items you had on you. Once you're done type /gm 1 to get back into survival mode. It would indeed be neat if the game tracked a few death locations instead of just the most recent one, ending up as bear food instantly after respawning does happen occasionally.
BetaPeche Posted yesterday at 02:00 PM Author Report Posted yesterday at 02:00 PM Hello, Thanks for the suggestion. The problem is that I don’t exactly remember everything I had in my inventory, so recreating the items in creative mode would be a bit difficult. Also, the second time I died happened because of a pretty unfortunate situation: I respawned in a trader’s bed and got stuck because of a bug. While I was stuck, a mob killed me, and it was in the middle of a storm So I’d really like to find the place where my items are. Luckily, I had set the item despawn timer to 1 hour, and I quit the game shortly after this happened, so they should still be there. I also tried switching to creative mode to fly around and search for the spot, but I wasn’t able to find it. If anyone knows a way (logs, save files, commands, etc.) to recover the coordinates of the first death, it would help a lot. Thanks!
