Stupich Posted April 1 Report Posted April 1 What's up with calcinated flint in 1.22 rc6? I'm trying to cook enough to make fireclay bricks to get a kiln going but it's taking 5-6 pieces of black coal to cook one flint? On top of the fact the stack resets to 0c every time its really not viable to make my own fire clay. Is this broken or has there been changes made that i've missed?
Solution PoisonedPawn777 Posted April 1 Solution Report Posted April 1 There are changes as of 1.22 in that everything heats up relative to stack size now but once you've heated the whole stack the temp shouldn't reset back to 0. If it is you've either found a bug or have mod interference. I personally think the change is a bit harsh, but you shouldn't be burning 6 black coal for every single flint. I believe you can fire flint in a bloomery, just cook enough for your first bloomery in the firepit and then use the bloomery. Not ideal, but a workaround if you're having issues. 1

A previous cook i had missed produced 14 calcinated flint (from a stack of 64) from 64 charcoal, seemed rather high but i had only seen that changes were made to smithing and didnt know it was affecting all heating times.
