DeanF Posted April 13 Report Posted April 13 The reed basket trap sounds handy, but how about snares?
Facethief Posted April 13 Report Posted April 13 Currently the traps available in the game are live traps, whereas a snare would probably kill whatever it catches.

I think it would be nice to have the possibility to use snares as a way to catch adult animals, even if it kills them. The traps in the game are for small animals only, if I’m not mistaken, and are intended to catch them to start animal husbandry. I can see the possibility of using some type of snare to help kill wolves near animal pens, or as a form of defense, even against drifters maybe.

Yes...? This would be for a food source, not capture for domestication. Thus, ideally snares would be available in the early stone age. Or am I missing your point? 5 hours ago, Stefano Colla said: I think it would be nice to have the possibility to use snares as a way to catch adult animals, even if it kills them. Racoons, foxes, hares, etc. (Squirrels would be nice to have for this too.) But maybe there could be a larger size of snare that could handle pigs, smaller deer, goats, and maybe even wolves. I'd be happy just with the small game snares, though.

Having two or more sizes of snares, maybe crafted with different materials, would be a nice addition to the game.
