Pulverizing ilmenite producing iron powder?

So, we ended up getting 6 Poor Chunks of Ilmenite when picking up bauxite and other things building towards steel.  I put them in the pulverizer, expecting to get a small amount of crushed ilmenite to make a few tier three refractory bricks.  But, what I got out of the pulverizer was 6 units of crushed iron.  I don't see anywhere in the docs or wiki why that wuld happen. I didn't even know it was possible, the handbook recipies don't show that.
Did I confuse something?

Okay.  Ignore this.  I think I had chunks of limonite, and I thought it was ilmenite because I didn't look after thinking I knew what it was.    Brain can't tell similar words apart when not words I really know.
