Vergial Posted June 28 Report Posted June 28 I suppose this is more a question than an idea, but if someone wants to yoink it and RUN, I ain't opposed. Is it harder to mod weather for VS? I don't see many weather mods at all, and the ones that exist don't reeaaaaally change the weather all that much. A small part of the idea/question is that rain seems to rely on height. This makes some level of sense at times, but I shouldn't go from dry weather to rain of any sort because I stepped off of a 1-block high hill. I'm surprised that this is a thing. But this thought occurred to me mainly because I'd like to see more weather types (maybe some undamaging tornadoes as well, I imagine damaging ones would be harder to code in without hurting performance). Browing the mods, I find very few (if any) actually change the weather in any meaningful or fun way. I've seen one fix cloud direction sort of, but even in that nice one the clouds don't quite match up with the wind, or the obvious stormclouds are miles away during a heavy thunderstorm. I tend to look for anything to boost my enjoyment of the ambience. Think like light-med-heavy rainstorms, dry-light-med-heavy thunderstorms, same for sandstorms, basically if it's a weather phenomenon, it would be cool to see, but there's startlingly little mod support for that sort of thing. 1
