Jericho007 Posted June 29 Report Posted June 29 Good afternoon all just looking for suggestions or advice. I recently got a new Mini PC for server hosting and it was a massive upgrade over the previous. I tried and successfully setup a server through AMP , migrated over the saves/mods no problem. However when playing on my gaming PC ( 2 separate PC's ) I experience intermittent lag spikes that range from minor to major that last about 5 - 10 seconds , I will receive the Host not responding messages error , the kicker is my friend a few states over has experienced 0 of these issues when were playing together. I have tried reducing view distance on my pc locally and enforcing it on the server side , it seems to help but I am not entirely sure its not me imagining it , my PC is pretty top of the line and when I was hosting it we had none of these issues. I have a suspicion my network or some setting or what not is what is causing the issue , I am on a Deco mesh network , I have both plugged into a secondary node hardwired , it should be able to support 1Gb traffic , and my modem is in bridge. Any ideas is appreciate , happy to provide any logs that may help.
Professor Dragon Posted July 2 Report Posted July 2 Maybe start on this page: https://wiki.vintagestory.at/Debugging_Performance_Issues Check that the suggestions on improving server performance are followed. There is a suggestion on that page on how to gather performance logs for debug checking. I'm not sure on your troubleshooting skills, but perhaps some of that you can review. I am guessing that when they say to send in the logs, it is after reviewing the above, and they mean to send it to the usual GitHub site for issue tracking here: https://github.com/anegostudios/VintageStory-Issues Professor Dragon.
