uikkaa Posted July 24 Report Posted July 24 (edited) I downloaded the game yesterday, win-x64_1.22.5 plus .NET 10 desktop runtime. Download was fine, no issues. Loaded it up today, logged in, got to the title screen fine. Was able to create a single-player world with default settings and no mods. Created a character and noticed there was some lag and glitchiness with the sound. Entered the world, this is what I see in all directions. This was on Very Low graphics setting. Lots of lag, some buffering with music. Exited the world and tried to rejoin to see if that would fix it, couldn't rejoin because the game thought it was "already running somewhere else". Made a new world, all the same settings, that's where this screenshot is from. This is being run on a Windows 11 64-bit ARM since I couldn't get the game to install on mac. It uses 4 processor cores and 12 GB RAM. There's pretty much nothing on it except one other game, so there shouldn't be anything slowing it down this much. Edited July 24 by uikkaa
Baltazarr Posted August 2 Report Posted August 2 There was a time that although i had a decent computer that everytime i installed a game i had very poor performance and problems with graphics. I believe it has the graphic card drivers. Im no expert in computers, but i am an expert in annoying people, in your case i believe you should call support just to rule out any problems with instalation.
DeanF Posted August 6 Report Posted August 6 Certainly, if you haven't already tried it, updating your graphics driver should be the first step. Since you seem to only use your Win box for a couple of games that you can't get to run on your preferred Mac, I assume that you probably don't maintain it as meticulously. I know that I don't.

I'd blame Microsoft's translation layer before anything else for both the graphical issues and the speed. It's no Rosetta. If you tried Mac first and would still be willing to play it on your Mac, maybe we could debug that instead.
uikkaa Posted August 7 Author Report Posted August 7 In the end I was able to get it working on my Mac after a lot of troubleshooting, changing permissions, and downloading both .NET 10s since the one that was supposed to work with my OS didn't. I am now 40+ hours into my first world and it is gorgeous (Though I did spawn on an island in the middle of an ocean which has no cattails or papyrus :,) ) 1
Diff Posted August 7 Report Posted August 7 If the one that was supposed to work with your OS didn't, did you download the x64 VS or the arm64 VS? For some reason VS offers up the x64/Intel version by default, and you have to go into "(Show all available downloads and mirrors of Vintage Story)" to reveal the Apple Silicon version of the game. They're two separate releases. That said, if it runs, it runs. Enjoy the game!

If memory serves, I originally tried to use the arm64 since I have Apple Silicon, but when I opened the game file it said no .NET 10 found. I grabbed the intel version and installed that, also keeping the arm64, and that worked.
