Leazira Posted October 16 Report Posted October 16 (edited) A little over a month ago, I upgraded from version 1.21.6 to 1.22.7. Before that, aside from a few stutters when loading terrain, the game ran fine, even with YouTube tabs playing in the background. But since the update, my game occasionally reaches CPU usage spikes of 100%, causing even background video playback to freeze (it freezes even if I only have the game open). Sometimes it happens once every half hour, or several times in a row. I tried lowering the graphics settings, but that doesn't seem to be the problem. I think it might be the mods, but I only have three, and I never had any problems with them before: Draconis, BetterRuins, and Prospect Together, all updated to their latest versions. I'd like to know if anyone else has experienced this or if you have any recommendations. Edited October 16 by Leazira
Professor Dragon Posted October 20 Report Posted October 20 Responding as no-one else has BetterRuins I believe is known to be resource intensive at times. I'd start out with some basic troubleshooting first though. 1) Check out here: https://wiki.vintagestory.at/Framerate_and_Performance 2) Make a Copy of your World, and then go into the copy and see if the same behaviour occurs. If yes, disable ALL of your mods and check again. Remember to turn your mods back on before going back to your main world. If still occurring, then really knock the graphics down and check again. If still occurring, then maybe something outside of Vintage Story(?). Report back here and maybe someone can add more. It's a bit hard for us to troubleshoot remotely. (You can also go and log something with the VS team, but you've got to do due diligence first as they'll want logs, and mods off.) Professor Dragon. 1
