puffthemagicdragonnn Posted 20 hours ago Report Posted 20 hours ago I am a new player to Vintage Story, and I just experienced my first temporal storm. Long story short, it gave me the worst motion sickness I've had since I was a child. I would like to turn off the swirling or wavy effect it has, where the whole landscape kinda bobs around. I'd prefer not to mod my game for the first play through, and I'd like to still experience the temporal storms, just in a way that won't make me so nauseous I'm bed bound for the next few hours. If anyone has any suggestions or if there's something in the settings I've missed, I'd really appreciate it!
Rainbow Fresh Posted 15 hours ago Report Posted 15 hours ago Unless the Glitch Strength Waviness setting in the advanced settings' accessibility category also effects temporal storms (Which I think uses the same mechanic just always forced to max so it should?) your only other option is to install mods. Which would be this mod, which adds a setting exactly for what you ask alongside other rather useful accessibility features: https://mods.vintagestory.at/accessibilitytweaks 1

The glitch strength waviness in accessibility settings as mentioned does indeed affect the temporal storm effects, at least the distortion part but not the overlay - just tested it to be sure. If you ever need finer control with any accessibility settings, the Accessibility Tweaks mod is always an easy recommendation either way. There is also the Accessibility wiki page, which may point you in the right directions and also links to a bunch of mods (some outdated).
