thewayman Posted November 7, 2020 Report Posted November 7, 2020 (edited) So far I have played about 30 hours in, and am going on to do a lot more so if I feel like adding something later I will. NOTE: One or two suggestions are already in the game please ignore them. For some background : I play co-op with my wife so this is the "Co-op" experience. Also my world high was set to 300 something because we thought this was the max block height (because it doesn't explain what that setting is). We only realized it when we made a new world and we were at y 60 instead of y 300. Which would be my first suggestion to fix. NOTE: Some of this stuff has already been recommended I believe but can always take more looking into. (Also note opinions are not facts so feel free to believe or suggest what YOU want). World settings: Man this one was hard, I would say that the first problem is, A. Tin/Copper/Ores are super super rare by default. So bad that we couldn't even find enough copper to sustain our tools. We changed the ore rate to 0.8 and that made the game quite a bit more balanced. B. World height description on the settings page, after watching the trailer I thought this was the setting to allow 3k block height or something. VERY misleading. Horses/Donkeys/Pack mules: This has probably been recommended but it would be awesome to finally have it! You should allow for more space on horses, maybe even carts they can pull! Don't just let us ride them it is very well known that horses were the power house of the economy for a long time in the world. Trading Rework: This is a huge issue because I asked people were to find "Tin" and they just said skip it all together and get a pickaxe from the trader to just get iron or black bronze. To me that is sad, everyone can play their own way but for a vast majority of people to skip is dumb. The frequency of traders is nice, idk about what they have. I feel it just was a useless feature to me, you could sell a lot of stuff for 1 gear but everything cost 10 or more. And the stuff that cost 10 or more was easy to make so why would I sell valuable resources to buy something I can make SUPER easy, it just needs a massive rework IMO. Allow Unique trades, maybe wondering traders and the goods they sell ONLY come from them you cannot craft them. Traps/ Bird traps for feathers: Trapping should be in this game especially for bunnies, hares, birds, small creatures. They are super fast and your only hope is to run them into water? Lol that just sounds cheesy and boring. Boats/Water transportation/Ships/Traders from a far! : I see so many games lacking in the ocean area and in the water area, minecraft kinda sucks at that. I mean wouldn't it be awesome to make a ship that moves? not just some boat that looks super unrealistic. Maybe make some traders spawn on the water that have ships that go in and out. Leveling System: I know classes are coming but what would be awesome is if you had levels that could go towards mining speed/hunger rate/ craft speed/ anything don't limit yourselves here haha. Cave System Rework: Man the current state of death pits is horrible I just am running around looking for bee hives and boom I fall 200 blocks haha. Just please rework it all. I know some new caves are coming but I didn't read that it was getting fixed so I am suggesting it. It really sucked getting trapped in them. Because if you don't have dirt or clay on you YOU CANNOT LEAVE THE CAVE lol... Chest Upgrades: Chest At the current state suck, they barely hold anything and I have to make a million to store my goods. But what would fix this is if I could just upgrade the space of the chest. Iron chest? Copper Chest? Tin Chest? Fancy Gold chest? come on lol this is a free opportunity. Farming Guide in game/Farming issues: The game itself doesn't explain anything really I kinda just had to figure it out lol. Man is it bad though, it takes FOREVER for the nutrients to come back. A plow system should be implemented where you can plow a field let it rest for 24 hours in game and everything comes back. Or have it for 7 days You choose but just having it sit there makes no real sense and also why would crops drop soil? No realism here, I think it should be looked at to follow the IRL method of farming where you let it rest after plowing it. Fruit Trees/More Crops: Man why is there no apple trees or orange trees, pecan trees, anything ! It would just make exploring way more fun and interesting instead of seeing 300-400 berry bushes. (For real why so many berries). Also why no basic crops? Potatoes? Corn? I mean theirs a lot of basic crops you missed out on even tomatoes and watermelons. Beef Jerky/ Drying meat: Come on why is this not a thing??? Animal lasso's or feeding/thirst system: The biggest issue is that if you read about to to start a animal farm it says to just hit them and run away trying to lure them, or run them into a 2 deep pit. That is horrible gameplay mechanic and someone needs to say it. I mean really? I can't befriend a chicken with seeds? I can't lasso a goat and bring him back like IN REAL LIFE? This really needs to get fixed. Also please implement a system where you have to feed animals and give them water. I hate how you see a chicken sit there never drink water and just live lol.. Resin Taps on trees: Way too annoying to get and honestly why... just why? IT is so important and you need a lot of it. So you should be able to unlock taps after a certain time in game if you want to balance it. Smaller wind power/Water power?: Man is quernin annoying and so boring. But the only way to automate it is with a windmill. Maybe make a smaller less efficient (of course) power system so I can at least not sit for an hour IRL just holding the button down lol... Age system/no skipping str8 to iron: I noticed a lot of people tell me to just use the trader to skip and get the higher grade stuff to forget about copper/tin bronze/any bronze really lol... This kinda makes me sad and think of the whole minecraft where you dig straight down and find diamonds, and just make the best tools already. A system should be in place so you can't skip ahead. Concrete/Aqueducts/Irrigation system: Kinda speaks for itself during the Roman era these 3 things kinda changed the world heavily would be nice to see them in the game some way. Books, Paper, Ink: Very important and can have many uses, even trading very valuable. Lower tier HP regen: Linen is hard to come by but you get bombarded by wolves from the very start. With no hp regen this makes for a horrible starting play experience for many people. Bandages maybe from herbs or grass? Idk but something needs to be in place. Roads/Walkways to travel faster/ make nicer bases: I never understood why this was not a thing in many video games, horses traveled on roads way faster IRL. It would kool if it was implemented in some way. Looms/Spinning wheel: First off how can I just make linen with my hands? A system and advancements should be in place to progress and make different things! Would be kool! Milk/cows/cheese: I see cheese is coming but haven't seen cows? Not sure how that will work but hopefully more farm animals are coming! Steam power not just mills: I don't know how advanced this game plans on going but it would be nice to have a water system where you have to pour water (From aqueducts) to steam engines and put coal in them to make STEAM POWER!! Propick rework/ores: Man is the propick sucky, I mean i gotta run around for hours just trying to get lucky about rocks ? Man this system is bad, but this is where minecraft nailed it, all ores should be able to be found underground at different levels and rarities. Block certain ores to ages/pick levels and you wont have skipping issues. But man I don't even try to use the pro pick I just pray lol because it is just so bad of a item. Bee hives are way too rare: Spent many many many many many many hours trying to find one, still haven't btw lol... Honestly I can go on with many more suggestions but we will leave it at these for now. This is stuff I felt was missing! Edited November 8, 2020 by thewayman 1

Surface ores always have an ore deposit below it. Mark all the surface copper nugget locations on the map, and when you gather enough nuggets for a pick and hammer, mine out all the ores under the nuggets. I have enough copper for nearly 2~3 full set of tools and I didn't even mine out a tenth of all the surface copper I found around my spawn. 5 hours ago, thewayman said: Farming Guide in game/Farming issues: The game itself doesn't explain anything really I kinda just had to figure it out lol. The in game guide is rather lacking in a lot of aspects. Though, rotating crops is generally enough considering 3 nutrient types and crops generally taking 3~4 days to grow. If you grew a P crop, dropping P nutrient levels, grow some K and N crops and you'll give P around 7~8ish days to recover, which I found was usually enough to keep everything more or less topped off. Using better soil for farmland also helps. Or use fertilizers. Bones are fairly common, and even just refilling one nutrient type means you can give the other types more time to recover. Also, crops draining the nutrients in the ground is.... kinda how it works in real life. There's a reason farmers use a lot of fertilizer. 5 hours ago, thewayman said: Fruit Trees/More Crops: Man why is there no apple trees or orange trees, pecan trees, anything ! And while I do agree that some alternate fruit would be nice, not sure if we really need more crops atm. I mean, say we add potatoes and corn. What would it really add gameplay wise? 5 hours ago, thewayman said: Animal lasso's or feeding/thirst system: The biggest issue is that if you read about to to start a animal farm it says to just hit them and run away trying to lure them, or run them into a 2 deep pit. Animals do need to be fed, not to keep them alive, yeah, but to have them be productive in any way. Yes, no water, but you don't drink either, so eh. Definitely agree we need some method of moving animals around easier. The current 'method' is basically 'we haven't implemented a system to move animals, so uh, try to make do with whatever animal mechanics we have'. Considering how animals are only going to get more important(like goats for cheese), a easier way to bring them to your farm is really going to be necessary to avoid frustration 5 hours ago, thewayman said: Lower tier HP regen: Linen is hard to come by but you get bombarded by wolves from the very start. Horsetail+cattail makes a horsetail reed poultice, which iirc heals you for 2hp. 5 hours ago, thewayman said: Roads/Walkways to travel faster/ make nicer bases: I never understood why this was not a thing in many video games, horses traveled on roads way faster IRL. It would kool if it was implemented in some way. The game has both wooden paths and dirt paths to make roads/walkways, and they boost walk speed. Wooden paths require aged wood, the dirt ones are just dirt and rocks. Can't say I'm a fan of how they look though, would personally prefer it if all blocks had different walk speeds(with 'artificial' blocks generally having better walk speed than 'natural' blocks) so you can make paths out of blocks you like. 5 hours ago, thewayman said: Propick rework/ores: Man is the propick sucky, I mean i gotta run around for hours just trying to get lucky about rocks ? Firstly, that's... basically how ores work in this game as well. All ores can be found underground(Ok, some ores don't appear in certain stone types, but it's not that hard to walk out and find a stone type that does have the ores you're looking for), they're found at different levels and have different rarities, and certain ores require certain tier of pick to obtain. Also, the propick is a very complicated thing to use, but it isn't sucky, and can help you locate ores fairly well if you know how to use it. Getting to those ores is another matter, but the propick will make finding ores much easier if you make use of it.
thewayman Posted November 8, 2020 Author Report Posted November 8, 2020 Update: Lead: Me and my Wife found over 20k units in under an hour we go to see what the use is.... its honestly depressing that it has only one use... So my suggestion on that is to add more! please lord add more uses it made me just stop playing all together to find out I mined all that ore for nothing. I am hopping back on today for some more fun!

Thanks for the reply good sir, I did not know about some of the stuff already in game I think I just haven't gotten into it all the way. Farming does have fertilizer so maybe we should look at plowing and also poop from animals? Either way I like your reply a lot thank you! Note: I know you can edit a lot of the world configs and mine ores under copper. This is mostly what I experienced from the default world then changed settings to MY liking. Also the pro pick is useful I don't disagree that it isn't but let me tell you, it is very very hard to make it work correctly. I mean it says ore node nearby and mine is set to 6. I mine down and find nothing, now it becomes a game of cat and mouse. How high up is it? How low is it? Do I need to go NSEW? it waste a lot of time imo when just mining for ores is way more effective running across the map and trading for better pickaxes. Mining in this game is quite... useless? At least it made ME and my WIFE feel that way.

The right way to use note mode is finding a trace of that ore, than prospect around that first sample rock. If it showed nothing or less amount, than you know you are on the wrong way. If it you found more dense trace, means you are getting closer, the ore must be in that diraction. Edited November 10, 2020 by JingHua Deng
