Pengwin Posted April 12, 2022 Report Posted April 12, 2022 Hi. Is there any vanilla way to rotate the "texture/grain" of wooden slabs? The block should somehow remain as is, but the texture of the planks should rotate by 90 degrees. Or are there any mods working with the current 1.16.4 enabling this? I aim to create wooden beams by chiseling, but this only works well for one orientation. The other direction looks weird. Since I have a texture of 10cm planks lining up as top/bottom texture on the beam. I found a screenshot in the blicklayer mod, which seems to use this somehow, but cant figure it out. Also exessive searching for combinations of "rotation, slab, texture, grain, tile" seem to yield no useful information, if this feature is present in any mod out there. Thanks in advance.
SaltyB Posted April 13, 2022 Report Posted April 13, 2022 I've never been able to get the grain of the slabs to rotate, only the full planks. You can rotate those depending on how you place them. It's double the materials, but imo worth it to get the look that you want.
Porkbrick Posted February 12, 2025 Report Posted February 12, 2025 i figured out a few half way work arounds for this. it is very material intensive though. in my case i wanted to make a wood plank floor with visible joists running 90deg to the floor boars and a beam under that running parallel to the floor boards. so it seems that slabs will always orient north/south, and planks will orient based in how you place them down. if you lay down your planks oriented eas/west, convert them to chiseled blocks and then add the slab to the chiseled block you now have a block that you can make the boards orient perpendicular to each other. you can us 3 or more different materials so you can have floorboards and joists distinct but you cant add planks and slabs of the same material unfortunately.
