How do I empty a bowl of water ?

Hi there, I had a bowl of rotten food that I dropped into water to clean it out, which worked, but now it holds a litre of water which I can't seem to pour out, tried letting it dry out normally, placed it into a fire, watering crops with it, drinking it, throwing it at drifters to see if they were thirsty, and now I'm out of ideas, help would be appreciated thank you

For me it is Ctrl + R + RMB  (right mouse button). Hope this helps.

This had me baffled for a while but I had also re-mapped my sprint key to R. Made a world of difference in my game play. Just a question? Any interest in joining a small server? If so, discord R3dOrchid#9327

Another way is to fill it with a meal.

This replaces the water (Don't ask me why).

Then eat the meal and you'll have an empty bowl back.

 

I would like to see this type of information ("To empty a bowl . . .") in the Survival Handbook, against the relevant item.
