Hi, no, no mods. just completely regular game-play. i was under the impression that you needed granite to proceed in any capacity with the game? i would assume you can melt surface copper if you get enough of it in a crucible, and you could make a mold for a pickaxe head out of clay.. why were my friends so convinced that they needed granite to proceed in the game at all? i will have to ask them for some clarification, thanks for this! maybe we dont need granite after all.

Hello, i recently bought the game for some friends and myself, and started a MP server to give it a go. On our first world we were learning and having fun for about 3 hours, did the clay stuff ect. and we were trying to get the granite pickaxe because i think thats the only way to proceed in the game and mine stuff. all four of us broke off and ran in different directions for 45 minutes, not a single morsel of granite was found. just miles and miles of limestone and basalt. is there something im missing in searching for it? does it spawn like a normal rock on the overworld? i figured maybe it was a server config issue or something, so i killed the world and re-rolled it on a new seed, ran in a direction for another 45 minutes, no granite, but this time two different rocks. my question is, is this a server configuration issue, or do i have to walk for hours sometimes in order to find something like granite? does anyone have a good server configuration that might help avoid this frustration? i see some other posts saying the exact opposite of me, with only granite, and frankly i'm a little jealous of them
