Found out if it stands on standard soil it happens, if its on cobblestone it does not

I Have iron blooms, I have a bronze anvil, helvehammer, normal hammer, but then??? I heat up the iron blooms, put them on the anvil, hammer, and my anvil breaks up??? I cant figure out how to work iron, and the youtube I checked all show the old manner? Helppp I want iron tools
