  3. A way to make rusty gears look brand new, making them more valuable to traders. You would use borax and some other ingredient in a barrel maybe?
  4. I really like this idea. I think we can merge them though. Mini-map and world map hidden by default, when you craft a tier-1 map it enables the mini-map but isn't color accurate and would only show the map around the player so it isn't mapping everything, a tier-2 map would enable both the mini-map and world map but again neither are color accurate. Tier-3 could have 2 different crafting recipes, Option 1 would enable color accuracy for both (still leaving color accuracy completely optional as you don't need to craft a tier-3 map.), option 2 would enable mapping, kind of like your character is drawing a map as you move around the world. Tier-4? Could in theory be for cave mapping (but this would be useful later if we get a cave update, just thinking out loud here) Could we also add a slot to the character screen ("c") to place the map so we don't have to keep it in our inventory?
  5. I assumed the "Suggestions" forum wasn't just for the base game but also for modders. I would mod myself but I'm not an advanced enough programmer yet. I like both of your ideas, maybe a modder will see this post. @LadyWYT @Thorfinn EDIT: I like the idea of the game getting progressively more difficult the further you move out away from spawn. It would be cool to see the spawn area be less "hilly" and easier to traverse and as you go out with it getting progressively more difficult, that could include the terrain/biomes and not just the enemies/dungeons etc
  6. @Thorfinn I'm not disheartened. Passive+ is what I'm more interested in. Passive doesn't seem any harder than off. But maybe that's just me. I'm trying to slowly work my way up to the base game mode (no Customization) and passive just doesn't feel like a step up.
  7. @LadyWYT Now I think there should be a "story" mode. More focus on the lore and story and less on combat.
  8. @LadyWYT your idea is better than mine! I just think that "aggressive" is a little too difficult for new players. For me, I am new only been playing for 3-4 days, I started with creatureHostility set to off. But now I'm ready to go up 1 level and playing on Passive isn't much different from off. I'm not ready for aggressive yet.
  9. A new mode between passive and aggressive. Similar to passive except drifters/locusts/etc would retaliate when attacked just like how animals do in passive mode.

  11. @Hal13 Wow, thank you for replying and explaining this much better than I could. I agree this would be a lot of work. I would help with the modding side if I knew how to mod. I also agree that it might be a minority of people interested in this. I believe it would add more immersion/realism to the game. (And yes bed frame, don't know why my brain said platform).
  12. Separate beds into mattresses and the base (platform?). A bed can be made of hay bales currently for the hay bed, but you could also make another bed out of linen (or some other material), both of which can be placed on the ground. Later on when you get a saw, you could make a base for the bed which can be different shapes. Placing the bed on the the bed base would give better sleep, better health regeneration etc. I apologize if this isn't explained well.
