New to game, sorry if it's a dumb question.  Are there any cheap ways to make blazes or noticeable trail marks?  Or something like a cairn? Best methods for early game? So far I've noticed I could lay down flint for knapping but I worry about it causing performance issues at some point if I have hundreds of them around the map.  Same thing with grass for firepit. Just occurred to me I could use firewood too but I'm bit surprised if there's nothing better than these options already in the game.

A signpost is cheap, crafted with a plank and two sticks, but you need a saw 🤷

Others have left great ideas too with the flowers and packed dirt and camp fires, just gotta find something that works for you.

Also, if you have abundant cattails you can use those for crafting torches as well

I wanted to make a tin bronze plate with the helvehammer. I missclicked, and instead got a padlock, added the second ingot before i noticed what i had done. Is there some way to get the material or at least some of it back, or is it wasted, unless i want a padlock in the future?

Personally I would just throw it away and use commands to give myself back the resources 🤷

The largest temporally unstable area I've seen was about 2k x 4k blocks. It was very annoying. That said, they ARE all finite, and it's best to spend your first day or two on a new map running like mad to see the different biomes and geomes that are available.

Geez! I didn't know they could be that big 🤯

    That's kinda horrifying 😬

I've been pretty lucky in that regard so far, except this one spot on my current world, I found this AWESOME area, super abundant resources; flat, tons of animals, large oak forest nearby, tons of cattails, lots of crops and berries everywhere, lots of red and blue clay, peat fairly nearby, etc etc etc. It was by FAR the nicest area I've come across in all my playing.... And it was very temporally unstable 😭

But at least it's only a few hundred blocks or so, so even tho I can't live there (big bummer) I can still gather resources 🤷

  4. I really don't understand the point of cheese, it seems totally not worth it to do all that work and wait all that time for something with so little satiety. It seems like the only benefit is shelf life, which doesn't seem worth it. And the fact that blue cheese is more difficult to make and yet has LESS satiety is just bonkers.

But I've never personally made cheese so I'm just going off what I've read and heard; perhaps I'm missing something 🤔

  5. I stumbled into the same type of thing in my most recent world, which has been by far the most awesome world I've had so far, so it's still in the game. This type of thing is ALL OVER, many GIGANTIC underwater caverns, it's really neat, and a fun way to find different rock strata and ores. Excellent world generation! Excellent game!

What would be neat is if some plants added nutrients, while others took them. At the same time, there is an element of RNG so that if you don't get the right seeds, you may be screwed. So maybe a good work around is poop? have animals poop, pick it up with a shovel, and have a system where it is turned into fertilizer? That would make getting animals more beneficial. As it stands you should get them asap just for steady leather and meat, as well as cheese in the future. So having a poop system where you have to clean the cages to restore nutrients to the farms would add value and realism. It would also help in finding animals, as they would leave a poop trail out in the wild.

Would also be neat to have a companion planting mechanic 🤔

Happened to notice Hypnotique reacted to your post, and I've been watching her videos lately, small world 😁

its to place it in middle one block high gaps and glitch thru walls

So if you go to bottom of caves and dont feel like walking back you can just put a raft down in one block high gap and sit on it it will take you all the way up like an elevator!

Darn it, I bet it's already been patched out 🤦

    But if not 🤠

We have created Five Worlds now and made significant progress in each just to have them crash and become corrupted.

My Wife and I have decided to go back to the other more stable Block Game, and will be deleting this one.

Don't get me wrong, this Game is very fun, challenging and rewarding, but there is nothing more punishing and frustrating then watching your time and effort go down the Drain.

Yes, we have been using a few Mods.

Better Ruins, Yabba Forge, and Anvil Metal Recovery+.

That's very sad, especially since 1) at least in mine and many other people's experience the game is very stable and 2) backups could've prevented this problem.

I've only experienced crashing one time and it was after an update on a unstable version and the crash was caused by a mod NOT the game and it didn't cause any other problem.

I wonder what was actually causing the problem, because this is certainly not the norm 🤔

Many times people blame the game even tho it was actually a mod or user error, but it's easier to just bust out the blamethrower 🤷

Hopefully you can figure out what the real problem was and a solution so you can enjoy the game.

Also, backups, whether you're playing this block game or the other block game, backups are your friend 👍😉👍

Do all vine tips grow, all the time? Because that's one of the things I hate about vines in minecraft- they all eventually hit the ground and also contribute a lot to lag. If they do, could you add a way to disable this?

They added a way to stop the nether vines from growing, yet somehow haven't found a way to make it work for regular vines? 🤦

Mojang sure is helping Terraria and Vintage Craft gain new players with their silly updates, lack of common sense, and refusal to ACTUALLY listen to the community 😂

  10. I think that's a great idea and makes perfect sense. It would also be cool to use leaves for compost since in real life leaf litter is one of the best composts, but then they would need to add a way to harvest the whole leaf block, plus there are SO many other, arguably more important changes and additions to be made 🤷
