  1. Heya, folks! Do you want to use a controller to play vintagestory on your PC? i will give you a run down, but you need:

    1. Steam

    2. Vintage Story

Step one: set up the controller type(s) on steam in steam>settings>controller>general controller settings

step two: once selected, you may need to restart your PC

step three: once you get back in, get your controller set up for playing vintagestory (the below is what i recomend, and it works for me lol)572450233_Controllermapirecomend.thumb.png.c33e0fa892aa084a6e7c26c4a5ad1a80.png

step four: Enjoy vintagestory with a controller (NOTE: above is for X-Box controllers the glyphs might be different on the controller you use!)

That's not exactly right, you didn't sleep through the ages, you "enter the world" the temporal storms and monsters spawning only start again after the first seraph enters the world, after seemingly there weren't any seraphs in the world for a long time, the player character physically phases in ("enters the world") or out ("leaves the world") of existence when logging in or out of a world (which complains about being alone again).

Seraphs seem to be without sex, gender, age or permanent death, therefore i doubt they have a childhood. And in earlier loading screens it was mentioned that you flew from the ruin of a world (not necessarily the one you start in).

Therefore these firsts you mention aren't firsts, only maybe firsts in this world, and that these firsts would trigger memories of the actual first time, that may have been aeons before, i doubt.

you mean you need more external motivation to explore the world? Other than getting the right stone/wood to build something, finding more rare stuff, finding stuff you can't get in the climate you are currently in, finding landscapes you want to build something in, finding at least one of each trader type to get the uncraftable stuff, finding rare wallpapers and music discs, ...

I was thinking about replacing the old thing about 'flying in from another world' but we could also have it so it's memories of being shoved in a cryo pod.... I was possible in thoughts of a different story for version 1.14 or higher.

  3. we have a temporal storm visual distortion, but not audio distortion!

The audio distortion should start up when temporal storms start, making audio go 5 pitch to -5 pitch rapidly until the storm ends (in example, foot steps should distort from the storm, if you swing a weapon, it'll distort, and if you eat it'll distort. just to give a few example, making the fact temporal storms distort also be auditory. it'll be crazy and disorientating, just like some of the visuals [might] be. (i never played since i have no way to, also hope it ports to console once you get everything finalized for the game))

  4. for the game, you basically woke up without any memories, nor memories on the event i'll call the 'end of all of the world' which caused the temporal storms to start coming, but leaving you to rest while everyone else died from the creatures that came. and your character should be able to find photos floating in random locations, just like the masks in we happy few has it. maybe, the player might see a snippet of childhood or what you did before passing out while the rest of the world went to ruin. this might make it worth wile to go into a cave for the first time, or defeat your first drifter, or any firsts, or even found in random locations, making it worth while to explore more, or even finding them in areas you've been in before after your second time going through them, possibilities are endless!

  5. I wanna have thirst in the game, have it be a bar that has a water animation if there is a percentage missing, there is also (Hopefully for all my features) on a survival mode where all realistic game mechanics go. if you want it in normal survival, enable it via thirst(on/off or enabled/disabled) and before you filter water, you can make a beer that hydrates you, and you could find natural clean water, but if you are in a dessert world, you can find clean water in aqua furs r in cacti, but there is a chance that it could make you hallucinate, in the dessert if dehydrated (faster dehydration rate) there is a meroge of a oasis, if your hydrated and find a oasis, your in luck because there is gonna be water, wood, and fertile soil! might also have creatures to domesticate! idk how yall think of this, and i can take a positive negative and true positive opinions! tell how you really feel!

  6. i've been creating a...being that i injected temporal liquid into, a test subject per say a young [lad/lass] who i took from the street. They were shivering from the winter cold, once i gave them the dose some creatures started to attack me, but i was too strong for them, snapping the arms off, for each of the creatures (i decided to call them drifters) there was one that was left, a strong one (cave drifter?) who broke my wrist yet I killed it with one fell swoop of the axe. (it wasn't just me everyone did with their weapons) *the rest is too scribbled to be able to read*

As I said, I and he would be fine if it was set on a timer and not just busy work (as I like to put it), it requires a certain hand eye coordination as David insinuated above with regards to smithing or clay working parts and that can put at a disadvantage some players, so having options in the settings would be great, even if the crafting of the item simply took a timer or count-down to create.

This reminds me of another game that I played recently that couldn't be played one handed (I'm often stuck in bed and can only play one handed games) until a modder came along and made the game one handed friendl(ier) by creating a mod that did a whole point and click to move the character (but it was a strategy top down view game, not like this), but point being that it would be nice to have options for those people that aren't perfect in body.

In Minecraft... Yeah, it's passive but you put iron in the oven and it comes out iron bars but it takes time for that to happen, I'd really like to see something similar to that (not the oven but rather the timer) for knapping, and whatever comes beyond that, that which is like Knapping in the game.

    ok...

My son hates the knapping function, he seems to complain quite loudly when he's playing (okay, yeah he's young) but I do get the whole knocking out one tiny block after another and the whole lack of hand eye coordination at his age but still.

Would be nice to be able to just double click on the knapping item and have it remove all of the kniblets so that he doesn't have to sit there and remove them one by one even if it promoted a timer to get the job done.

Obviously I'm talking about making it an option for those that wish to use it and not force it on the general playing population.

the fuck?!? the knapping is easier but y0u can just break a row (or up to a micro block) and break a peace next to it (works for axes, shovels, and spears, and hopefully arrow heads) that makes it a lot of the hell easier so please experiment before posting that (oh.. I needed to read more ._.)

Not sure what benefit alcohol would provide, but it was terribly important to the development of civilization. Especially beer. So why not make beer out of the rye and spelt? (And mead from honey, wine from berries)... .

The obvious benefit is happiness, but hard to show that in a game. Maybe have it counteract the time wobble / insanity stuff by slowing it down?

i think that this is a good idea, yet how can this realy be usefull than being less unstable with your temporal juce, and add a happiness bar if that can work like the Block Heads, but too much to drink make you vomit, loosing some hunger in the process, but this might make way for a beer that is used for hidration, not for plesure and make the character mention either "this is bad taistin' but it'll do"" or just have a "yuck" come out from certain brews

  9. I think metal tools (in example, iron) should rust in the rain if left outside on a tool rack, but copper tools will be that copper green since that is why it can't rust, making it a bit toward a realistic approach to the mechanics, also make the rusty tools (if you can drop them on your foot or what ever, but that will be for another day) has a chance to give you tetanus, will cause the player to have a locked jaw (can't eat anymore after a day or two) and cause limbs to 'glitch out' aka spasm and lose HP, after 20 days left untreated (or starvation idk), you spasm on the ground and fall limp (dead), but cure it using a berry salve that requires a six-sum of berries or a cactus fruit item with a mortar and pestle (make them separately then combine in crafting) the mortar and pestle are able to be made with separate materials, like wood and copper, or obsidian and wood possibilities can be endless, but all combos do the same thing, grind things up, yet in early game you can make BANANA WOOD as the material (add banana trees too!) but, however, green copper can't do that, but yeah, otherwise please add this!
