Does the birb just fly away at half health? Are you not supposed to defeat it? I'm so confused.

Since the recent major patch I've had issues when walking around in my home base; Tooltips not rendering. When you hover the mouse over items the description doesn't show up. Mobs are invisible when entering the base from far away. The "bobbing" in first person view stops. Crouching doesn't lower the camera. Rain audio seems to disappear when moving around. Hunger bars are blank. I don't really understand why its happening. There is no fps drop and my hardware isn't maxing out as far as I can see. There wasn't any issue before I traveled 30 km for a storyline quest. The problems disappear as soon as I leave my base.
