First real chisel thing, I made a little gargoyle!

I love it very cute -
In my case I like to have large islands or small continents around to allow to actually gather resources and advance efficiently, if you try the ones in my linked post I commented some in there that I use for my world and it gives me pretty sizable small continents that gives me enough space to find things I need, there's also another small continent nearby I can sail to to trade or look for things.

I like having oceans and large islands or ideally continents, the settings I used are in the linked post. There's a setting I didn't know about and didn't touch in my experiments so I need to make some new worlds and try to mess with that setting too but I like the worlds I've been able to make with the settings in my post. The oceans are nice because you can use the sailboat to transport items acrossed the world but I will say that long sailing voyages can get boring and take a long time. I wish there was a boat in the game I would walk around on while it's moving so I could do stuff and not just have to sit there while it's sailing :3

My original base before I set off for a Southern Comfort zone...
jaelyn666 replied to HomoSentiens2030's topic in Builds
I love your base :3 I recommend putting an overhang on your thatch roof it looks really nice that way, I think your base overall has a really comfy vibe. Hope you like the tropics! -
Thank you so much for making this post I thought I was losing my mind Lmao, I even posted a question about it and no one answered me. I thought they added a new shader or something.
-
I recently updated it to the latest stable release and it seems like everything looks different like a new shader was added, I looked through the release notes and didn't see anything about it?

I think it's a great idea, we have gears and windmills so the world is already somewhat industrial, I think some black powder guns would fit the theme well, the hunter should get a bonus to the guns, maybe even give us a high powered musket we can use to hunt big game, maybe the hunter has a quicker reload speed snd increased damage. We also need some way to hang the gun on the wall as a decoration above the mantel.

Thank you for the info! :3 it's really cool when gamers work together to get the info we need
-
I'm really glad I could help you! I was super frustrated trying to find the info I needed and I made over ten test worlds trying to get the settings I wanted so I'm glad you could benefit from my experiment :3 I hope you enjoy the settings and get what you wanted :3

Anyone who stumbles upon this in the future: I have found the best settings for continents surrounded by ocean is 30% land cover 300% land scale :3 got me exactly what I was shooting for

All of the info online for finding bees is usually centered around temperate living but I like to live in the tropics in game and have figured some things out in my 700 hours in game, first of all you are unlikely to find bees in any jungle it may be possible but I've never encountered them, plus the thick vegetation makes spotting them in a jungle difficult. The key to finding tropical bees is to find an acacia biome with grass not a desert, look for an acacia biome with common rainfall and not above 35 degrees Celsius. Turn your volume up and go from acacia tree to tree listening for bees and eventually you are basically guaranteed to find them I never fail to find them this way, if the current acacia biome isn't working find another rinse and repeat :3 I have never discovered them in tropical climates In any tree besides acacia and I believe they are exclusive to them. This is how I always get my bees in hot climates and I hope this can help a fellow tropical lover

With the mods thing there is always the possibility a particular mod will stop being updated forcing me to abandon and potentially corrupt my save, I also like the purity of having it completely vanilla as it's the true game and true experience and with mods it just feels wrong to me for some reason I totally understand they have a small dev team and I have nothing but respect for them, just wishing we had more going on with the equator :3 I feel like palm trees should be fairly simple to implement and probably should have been there from the beginning.
